My experience here was delightful. The staff were talkative without unintentionally overwhelming shoppers, and the displays were gorgeous. As someone who used to live in Colorado, and enjoys a nature or mountain feel, this place was the perfect amount of cozy. The lighting was mellow, and the space itself was cozy without feeling claustrophobic. I would give 5 stars, however I personally felt the prices were a bit above what I was looking for. I'm confident that the quality of the clothing is worth higher end, however it felt just a smidge above what I expected. Overall, definitely make a note to visit if you're in the area, this place is fantastic

Thinking about where to get your outdoorsy gear? Thinking about going to REI... well don't. Go here first! They have a cute curated selection of all the top brands with a funky flair. There is a little something foreverone. (This is not to bag on REI, I love it there, just love it here more)

Like REI, but cute, small and local! This is such a great addition to Monroe St. I love their perfectly curated Men's clothing line. They also have an excellent selection for all your cold weather and outdoor needs! Their staff is terrific, very knowledgeable, and always offer to help with your needs.However, similar to REI, they do have a somewhat high price point. Their clothes are most definitely worth what you pay, but you will pay a tad more than other stores,

Very well-curated selection. Every time I go in there, I come out with something cute (even if I didn't intend to!!! Thanks Hive...). Brands like Toad and Co, Patagonia, Prana... also accessories and things.

I have bought so many cute things here and gotten great recommendations for items. Staff is super helpful while still giving you space just to browse around. And items for both women and men! Favorite clothing store in the area!

Website says 6, sign on the door says 6, folding signs out on the sidewalk but the door was locked at 5:30. The staff inside saw me at the door looking to get in during posted hours and proceeded to ignore me. I won't be back.

Every staff member I spoke to was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. The absolute best place to buy socks in Madison, in my experience. If you're looking for a quality gift, for yourself or someone else, Hive is a great choice.
