The first time someone told me about Edward Klief Park, I said, "where the hell is that"? The yelp reviews were lacking, so now that I am aquatinted with the fine place, I have decided to help everyone who asks themselves that same question in the future. Sitting on a whole city block, this park is a wonder for many reasons. First off, the energy of the area is electric, being less than a 4 minute walk from the most well known Freshman bars. Additionally, many college students live directly next to the park, leading to interesting decorations surrounding the park. It has also become a gathering place for the students, as it is perfectly laid out for a game of pickup basketball on the courts or a pre planned kegball extravaganza. This being said, another group of students frequents this park often. The park is also located right next to an elementary school! The playground is great for kids, but also for testing your sobriety (proceed at your own risk). I have to say, some safety improvements need to be made though, as I heard of a wee one who hurt her ankle due to the complete lack of friction on the slide. Overall, this park is a gem of Madison, where anyone of any age can have oodles of fun. Must visit if driving through Madison!

Edward Klief park is truly a staple of the neighborhood. It has everything you could want! slides, swings, and a complex jungle gym. But be careful of the turf, you could slip and twist an ankle! The park has been a cultural icon for both elementary school kids and college students, who throw keggers on the grass and then ride those kegs down the slides. picture attached. Also, the original name of the park is Milton Street Playground!

This park is okay, nothing too crazy about it, but I'm glad it is there. Good place to meet up with people, especially when covid rules made it impossible to see a group of people at once.
