What a shame, I really liked this location. I have no plans of ever returning because of my experience this evening. It makes me even wary of coming to any dollar tree and I’m a frequent shopper. I came in 10 minutes before closing to buy multiples of a specific item, this item has different versions because it’s a decor item. I understand that it can be annoying when you’re working and customers come in right before closing. I am very aware of this and I don’t like doing it, but because of time constraints it was the best time for me to go. When I entered an employee reminded me they would be closing soon and said I had 5 minutes. Not thinking much of it other than, as long as I’m checked out and out the door before 10 I’ll be good. I closely watched the clock because again I wanted to make sure I got out of there before 10. It took me 5 minutes to search for the items, starting to narrow down the items I really wanted. A different employee then passes by on the other side of the aisle and in an angry tone says, we’re closed you need to check out and leave, to which I kindly protested, ok I just need another minute to take what I wanted and I tried to say it wasn’t 10 yet. She kept interrupting and arguing with me getting angrier and angrier. After back and forth of her being mean and harassing me to leave, and me responding with kindness, I got fed up and slightly raised my tone and said something like ok I got it! and that set her completely off. She was cussing at me and going mad off, yelling and saying I started this. I understand that this is a sucky job and she just wanted to go home (and she told me too) but this was completely out of line. I understand if I was being a jerk then it would have been deserved but I was just minding my business trying to hurry and kept getting verbally harassed. Her coworker, Susan helped defuse the situation and checked me out. She was very kind. However I didn’t even leave the store until almost 10 minutes after closing because of this mess. The lady who yelled at me made me come to the register to checkout before I was ready and while I was sorting out what I did and didn’t want I was legitimately sobbing because of how rude she was to me. She stood close by and continued to say rude things to me while I was crying my eyes out. After leaving I just sat in my car and cried more. This is hands down the worst interaction I’ve ever had with someone who is at their job. I really try to be as unburden-some as possible to service workers and her actions towards me were completely unwarranted. I’m embarrassed and terrified to ever go back and probably won’t like I said. This left me with such a bad taste in my mouth.

The place improved so much in the past year. It's organized, clean and with good stock. The new over $1.25 section is great! I do think the place could have more staff but it still great.

The staff here sucks. It’s usually a more decent dollar tree, but even after trying to kill these ladies with kindness, you can’t get past their rotten attitude. Today I literally watched a man inquiring about getting a job stocking shelves for some extra money and bc they clearly needed the help (even tho every time I’m there there’s only one person at the register and a couple others just sitting there doing absolutely nothing when there’s clearly so much to do); and these ladies shut him down SO fast and he threw out a few attempts too. Like you’d think they’d welcome the help, at the very least offer him an application? Nope. They made it clear they didn’t want him nor anyone applying. Maybe they just like being miserable. Also they had items marked clearance that were obvious Halloween items and then wouldn’t give me the discount. Unreal. I hope they see this too and check their attitudes and how they talk to customers or go get a job where you don’t have to interact with the public.

Very slow. Lady in front of was upset because everything is suppose to be $1.25 and they charged her 1.50 for some items. No help. Other dollar stores are better.

Shopping today, Friday August 18, 8:15 pm. 2 young people ahead of me thought that everything in the store was $1.25. The checkout lady explained that over 2 years ago they started receiving larger items and things are priced as marked. Not everything for a buck anymore. Their items ranged from $1 to $5. They did not have enough money to pay for their $27 purchase. Susan, the checkout lady said, don’t worry, I’ll pay it for you. Without hesitation she reached under the counter, and from her purse she took a $10 bill and a $20 bill. She paid for their entire purchase. I’ve read posts of people unhappy with the service received at this store. I’m a long time loyal customer and cannot praise the staff enough. Susan, checkout lady at Dollar Tree on Mineral Point, deserves an award.

Even at $1.25 for most items, it's still a bargain.
