As soon as I met Sarah, I knew she was the best trainer for Ruby and my family. She welcomed us into her home and made us feel at ease, and immediately started to help with Ruby. Sarah showed me how to work with Ruby in the most calm and positive way. She brought Andrew in to help as well, and also her dogs to give Ruby support. We have been using her methods and honestly having fun and seeing a lot of improvements in Ruby along the way. The best thing is that we have Blue Dogs support for life!

I can’t recommend blue dog training enough. Sarah goes above and beyond for her clients, she is incredibly passionate, and educated in her field. I have worked in the veterinary field for nearly 15 years and learned more about puppy training and behavior in my 3 hour puppy evaluation with her than I have in my entire career. She truly cares about you and your dog and makes sure things are improving with whatever your issues may be. She has helped my family with a difficult situation and I really can’t imagine navigating it without her. In the end you’ll feel more as a friend rather than a client. If you’re on the edge of calling Sarah, here’s your sign to go for it. You won’t regret it!

My partner and I have had dogs in our lives since we were both in the womb. When our beloved Winnie (13) and Scout (14) died this past May and August, respectively, our hearts were shattered, so we decided to get a puppy! Great idea. LOL We soon realized we were in WAY over our heads (how did we do this 14 years ago??) and needed professional help. We heard about Blue Dog through a mutual friend; I left a message and Sarah called me back within an hour and laid out our training options. We chose their Stay and Train program and have zero regrets.Franklin, was 4+ months when we adopted him, came to us reverse potty trained (meaning, it was only okay to potty IN the house) and had started to develop a few other bad habits. These were all erased. Our goals for Sarah were house training, independence/confidence, and manners. In two weeks, she and Andrew have given us this and a foundation to build upon.The Stay and Train program isn’t just about training Franklin, it’s about training the humans, too. I have learned so much (which is a huge surprise, since I’ve had dogs in my life for 50+ years). Additionally, we have access to Sarah and her expertise for the rest of Franklin’s life, which is worth the price of the program, IMO.

Our experience with Blue Dog Training has exceeded all our expectations. We are amazed at how much our puppy has learned in such a short time, at such a young age. It was difficult to send our puppy away from his home so early on for his two training weeks, but Sarah helped us see it was the best decision for our puppy AND our family. Our puppy received not only the incredible head-starts he needed on positive reinforcement training from Sarah, but also the same love and care that we give to our puppy. Sarah’s professional experience with dogs is highly credible, but also her ability to connect with us as a family was impressive. Andrew did just the same, as they both made our entire family feel welcomed, supported and very much involved in the whole training experience. They are great with my four young kids which has been just as important to us through this whole training process. I am now confident in raising a well behaved puppy and value the long term relationship we have established with Sarah and Andrew at Blue Dog. I cannot imagine bringing our puppy home without their help. I would without a doubt not only recommend but encourage others to work with Sarah.

My family and I have been wanting to get a puppy for a long time. We partnered with Blue Dog Training & Behavior on their puppy matching services. Sarah helped us think through all of our options, taking the time to really understand our needs and desires. With her support, extensive knowledge and experience, as well as her connections in the dog world, we were able to arrive at a decision that best suited our family. She connected us with a reputable breeder, and we have been beyond thrilled to welcome Rio, our Australian Shephard, to our family. We have continued to partner with Blue Dog Training & Behavior for their "Stay and Train" program and pet sitting plus services. During Rio's 16-day "Stay and Train," Sarah and Andrew helped instill the foundation of learning for Rio. They cared for and nurtured our puppy and helped set her and our entire family up for success. Since Rio has been home, Sarah and Andrew have been available to answer any questions we have and guide us on our training journey in a way that is setting everyone up for success. Sarah and Andrew care deeply about their work, and they go above and beyond to ensure their clients feel supported and empowered. They are a wealth of knowledge and resource. I feel comfortable asking Sarah any questions because I always leave the conversation feeling empowered and equipped with the necessary tools. She is my greatest cheerleader in my pet parenting journey! We have two young children (ages 6.5 and 5), and she has done so much to ensure our family is set up for success in making sure everyone thrives in the home. I highly recommend Blue Dog Training & Behavior! I have already given their contact information out to many friends and family.

Sarah and Andrew are a wealth of knowledge and a dog owners lost valuable asset. They are thoughtful, incredibly helpful and their passion for dogs is obvious. They are much more than your typical trainer and always go the extra mile to help you gain a priceless understanding of your new 4 legged family member. Our Bernese puppy is only 5 mi the and we have already utilized their expertise more times than I can count. So thankful to know Sarah and Andrew!

I am a first-time dog owner and was overwhelmed by the amount of information out there on how to form a strong relationship with your dog that benefits you both. Sarah and Andrew have done such an amazing job helping me set the foundation of training so that Lennie (my pup) and I know how to better communicate together and I can help with her development through the two week stay and train program. They are both incredibly responsive and knowledgeable - able to help with questions as they pop up but also having taken the time and care to work with Lennie in their home for 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend not only to first-time dog owners but to anyone who wants to learn more about how to communicate effectively with their dog. Overall, an amazing experience!

My husband and I decided to add a fur baby to our family unit, and we were in for a rude awakening with how tough puppies can be. Sarah and Andrew helped turn our dog from a tiny terror to a perfect angel. They have been so helpful from the moment we got her to now, and they continue to be an invaluable resource for us. We decided to find a companion dog for our daughter, and it was important to us to find the right match for her and our family. From the first call with Sarah from Blue Dog Training, a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. She has taken the time to get to know us and our daughter's needs, educated us about breeds and temperaments, and vetted potential matches. Sarah is highly knowledgeable, smart, detailed, and reliable, and has coached us through a complicated decision with ease. We are going to meet our first potential match this weekend. We greatly appreciate all the help from Sarah and Andrew so far, and look forward to working with them as we re-home and train our new family member.

Sarah and Andrew were absolutely amazing to work with. They jumped in on short notice to help us with challenging puppy. Sarah devoted a lot of time to help us understand the difficulties we were having - she was nonjudgmental and was able to clearly communicate about the behavior issues in a way that we could understand even as brand new owners. In the time our puppy spent with Sarah her behavior changed dramatically. Ultimately we decided to rehome our puppy but only after reaching the deep understanding of why this puppy was not compatible with our family. This allowed us to finish the process feeling confident about this incredibly difficult decision. Throughout our time with Blue Dog Training, I learned so much about dogs from Sarah and witnessed the incredible depth of knowledge and passion that she has for dogs. Whenever we decide to try again to get a dog I will absolutely hire Blue Dog for the pet selection services to help ensure we make a better choice, and for any future training/behavior support. I would strongly recommend them for any training and behavior needs.

We were having a difficult time with the behaviors of our 5 month old Golden Retriever and we knew we needed help. We found Blue Dog Training & Behavior, spoke at length with Sarah and Andrew and decided that our best option would be to have our pup "stay and train". The change has been amazing. However, the best part of our experience was all the WE learned from them. They sent us videos of their training sessions with our pup, provided great insights, and spent significant time teaching us how to work with our pup. We went from not having a plan to knowing exactly how to manifest the positive behaviors we were looking for. We have a happy pup and peaceful home!! Thanks, Sarah and Andrew!

My experience with Blue Dog Training could not be more wonderful. Sarah, Andrew, and I share quite a journey - from well before I even brought home my Newfoundland puppy. They have been with me every step of the way, always supportive, never judging, always ready to offer help. We did a board and train for our Newfie - Sarah has worked wonders with our puppy. The difference was remarkable. Our puppy is extremely well-socialized, friendly, confident, and well-behaved. She loves learning/training too! Since her return, I have taken her to a number of public places/events and everyone admires how well-behaved and social she is. We have a young child, so it was very important to us that we give the best head start and foundation to our puppy and set her (and our family) up for success. Sarah and Andrew did just that - our puppy has seamlessly adapted to our family. We cannot wait to continue her training with Sarah and Andrew, and at home!

Sarah with Blue Dog Training has been such an amazing trainer and business owner while we had two mini golden doodle puppies and a husky puppy to support in training. Right off the bat, Sarah was clear and communicative with her training style and the directions she takes to ensure an environment that was supportive to the puppy and family growth. This set everyone up for success from day one. She emphasized that these puppies would learn how to learn to make certain that their growth does not end when they went home. We have now done multiple weeks of training and boarding with Blue Dog and every time we pick up the puppies, we are astounded by the progress. These puppies are excited and willing to continue their growth at home. Blue Dog sends videos and notes to us as the puppies’ stay continues to ensure we are up to date on how we can best support these puppies as well. When the puppies come home, we feel prepared and set up for success by using the same cues, supports, and consistent training that they have instructed of us. The methods Sarah uses are effective and long lasting and truly made a huge impact in our puppies. On top of the stellar training, we have been so pleased with the communication and commitment Blue Dog has to their mission and their love for what they do.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah and Andrew at Blue Dog! We starting taking our fearful dog to Sarah when we first adopted her in 2016 and the advice and guidance we received was a lifesaver. It is also our absolute favorite place to board our dogs. Not only are our pups excited when we arrive, we receive photos and updates over their stay. Never a need to worry when your pets are in their hands -- they will be taken care of as one of their own.
