Do not buy online from this place. Ordered a pair of shoes in the wrong size, so I immediately asked them to cancel el my order. They told me they canceled it and refunded me. That refund never hit my bank account, and 3 weeks later, the shoes showed up. I tried to cut my losses and wore them around 3 times, and they immediately started to come apart on the back stitching. I sent an email to August saying that this happened, and got no reply. Confusing and frustrating.

Hands down my favorite clothing store in Madison. Not only are they always stocked with a well curated selection of fashionable and unique pieces, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really cool people. Always a superb in-store music selection and a great vibe. Been coming to the store for years and I always stop by when I’m in town. Since I come every few months, they always have a new selection of clothes and they never miss ??

As noted in my earlier review, I am updating my review based on August's response to my email complaining about the lack of a refund for a pair of Salomon shoes that didn't fit despite being same size as multiple other similar Salomons I own. No refund since were on sale.They have offered store credit - still not a great solution, but better than nothing - MAYBE.I do a fair amount of online shopping for outdoor shoes and clothing, regularly checking 5-7 well known websites (not Amazon), plus others occasionally - and with one exception everyone else I deal with offers refunds, some with a charge for return shipping, some free. The only other place offering only store credit in recent years was a major regional outdoor gear retailer, and they did give a refund after I protested. I shop there a lot less now!I’ve searched August's website looking for a way to spend my pending store credit, and haven’t found anything for me or my wife yet - limited choices and lots out of stock. The credit may turn out to have value, but not yet, and maybe never?Maybe more workable if I lived in WI, not CT, and could shop the store. Website not the easiest to search.My advice to any shoppers at a distance, make sure August has other items you want if you need to return the one you're buying and only get store credit.

This store is great! The collection of clothes is superb and highly fashionable. The sale associate was spot on. He knew everything about the products on the shelves and could field any question easily. Would highly recommend.

Prices were so good I ended up googling to make sure the site was legit. My order was with USPS within 45 minutes of ordered. I really appreciate how quickly my order was shipped and how well packaged the item was. 5/5 would recommend ordered from these guys.

I ordered a new book from August and received it with a damaged cover. The cover had been damaged during shipping, as it had not been properly packaged for shipping (hardcover in a soft package). I let them know but never received a response from them.

August is so beautiful. A home away from home for me, I feel like apart of a chosen family when I'm there. Management is so proper, they're so in touch with Street Wear to it's very core and perfectly link they're knowledge/skills with the Madison community. And the universe agrees with them entirely because the energy radiating from the store is so incredible, absolutely out of this world. I Love August. August should be supported always.

August is a great place especially Joel ! The store was supposed to open at 12pm on a Sunday for the panda dunks release. It was freezing out and a line stretched around the building . He came in early around 9am to get people checked out so they didn’t have to wait 3 more hours in the freezing cold.
