Leadership at American Family Insurance Head Quarters is extremely disappointing. My AMFAM insurance agent of over two decades, for our personal and business insurance, apparently retired at the end of 2023. I received no notice of this and was transferred to a new agent in a different city without my knowledge. AMFAM couldn't be bothered to notify me about this. After nearly 9 months my new agent, myself and the help desk at AMFAM can still not bring up my business policy to view!!!! Some online sites at AMFAM show that it is no longer active!!!! My new agent is actually great and has spent a considerable amount of time assisting me. However, that does not excuse the absolutely terrible service from the head quarters in Madison. So let's see; poor communications with customers, lack of support for agents, lost insurance policies and simply not caring. American Family Insurance is "Dreaming" if they think this is okay.

I am a 48 year customer of American Family. They are now increasing Minnesota homeowners deductible to a minimum of $2000. They have become like any other protected industry company or government entity. The government says they won’t increase your taxes so they increase the value of your property and keep the same tax rate. The cost in taxes still goes up. Insurance companies share the liability and cost across all policy holders whether you have been at fault or not! This isn’t new but it makes me sore every time it happens. Not sure how to combat these policy changes but don’t want to roll over either. I will now shop for insurance elsewhere. Guess I have been complacent by not shopping all these years.

Former employee, current customer. My agent sincerely cares for my best options in protecting my property and my future. Wonderful place to work, so many great dedicated people that work to provide the best products and services in the industry. Was sad to leave but had a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Rather than make a situation right all this company cares to do is protect their bottom line and take from hard working folks. American Family has a national reputation for being the most difficult to work with insurance company out there. One look at the thousands of negative reviews should tell you something. This company should be ashamed of how they treat people as well as the employees that push their profit first policies and who put a paycheck over their own personal ethics, its just pathetic.
Avoid them as best you can.

10 stars if you ask me. Fletcher J, Andrew S and the operators at this company seen to my return quickly and to my highest and best interests. Being involved in an accident is not a comfortable experience but this company was quick sufficient and made me feel calm. I highly recommend them. I will be working on becoming a member as soon as I can

AmFam has been raising rates nationwide for over a year, and my rates increased 70% in the last 1.5 years. AmFam will respond that all carriers are increasing premiums, but with only one phone call to State Farm I was able to get a rate that removed the entire 70% increase.
Does State Farm operate their business so much better then AmFam that they can offer such competitive rates? It's frustrating.

If I could give zero stars I would I used to like my insurance company but lately they've been screwing me over. I received a bill from them late after the due dates. So then they wanted $587, which was fine but then I got a cancelation.Notice for over eight hundred dollars. What are you charging at three hundred dollars late fee. When I called a 18 hundred number all I do is give me excuses like I didn't pay enough back in 2023 things like that. When it happened the first time in February?I took out a very expensive personal loan to pay it so I can keep my insurance. Now you're doing it to me again.

absolutely 0 stars. Noel Loseau has avoided me since one of their clients rear ended me in AUGUST. I just got off the phone with her and she refused to help me and told me to fix it through my insurance if I don't want to wait- if only I could afford to fix my car after THEIR client damaged it. She is absolutely the worst insurance agent I have EVER experienced.

This company prioritizes profit over people.Long story short: An amfam insurance holder turned into my vehicle a month ago. I didn't call the police or make a report since the driver followed me to a safe turn off spot so we could exchange info and not block traffic. That was my mistake. I filed a claim with this company 2 hours after being hit and the agent told me it would be my word against the other drivers since no police report was made. So the other driver disputed my claim saying that I veered into her so the agent would not approve my claim.Amfam did not put any merit to my argument that their client was lying because their client had never filed a claim with my insurance. Nor were they interested in a receipt I had an hour after the accident proving what direction I was going which would disprove their clients claim that I hit them or the fact that I had a passenger in the car with me who saw the whole accident. The agent I worked with from amfam was nice and professional and she was very straightforward with me from the start. Unfortunately for me the Company policy is to not investigate claims if no police report is filed, As if the police are an infallible institution that can empirically find fault in accidents they didn't see happen. Here's what I should have done going forward: stop at the accident scene blocking traffic, Call police no matter how minor the damage, Treat the other driver as a potential criminal, invest in a dashcam. This is the world we live in now.
