I can’t believe I didn’t come here sooner! This place has everything that I ended up having to put stuff back on the shelf because I still have to afford bills. Thanks for having a bookstore inclusive to all

Such a gem. Amazing selection of everything and the staff are phenomenal. I took my kid there after a haircut they were unhappy with. The staff went the extra mile to try to cheer up my kid. And then we left with wonderful books, stickers, and pins

What a wonderful book store! I'm from out of town and always love exploring the local shops and this one is a must see!I was looking for a few broad topics and the gentleman working went out of his way to help and find books my wife and I might love!If you have the time, or just want to meet some great people you should definitely stop by and see this huge beautiful store!

Neat store, however if you don’t like being greeted at all when you walk in and just get stares, this is the place for you. Also they are still stuck back in time (1918) with face mask requirements. Crazy

This was our first time visiting since they relocated, the space is so much better for them! The selection is top notch and the genre classification system is refreshing compared to other local bookshops. Friendly and informed staff, welcoming to all!

I always make a point to stop at Room of One's Own when I'm in the Madison area! I love the selection of books, the employees are all so kind and fun to talk to, and I love what an openly welcoming place this is for the queer community. Their bumper stickers are a must-shop as well--so funny and clever! Highly recommend making a trip to this wonderful bookstore, whether you're in the area or not; it's worth the drive!

Books I were looking for were not in stock. Looking for them on "A Room of One's Own" website, some were listed as being in stock while others were missing entirely. The prices listed for individual copies of the volumes were nearly twice as expensive than other stores.

Looked up bookstores on my way out of town and happily ended up here. So much to browse and check out, next time I'm in town I'll stop back for sure. My daughter made herself quite at home here.

I went to this bookstore today wanting to experience a local business as opposed to a chain store…the store itself was beautiful. There is nothing like the smell of books! The shelves were packed high & very well organized. I must say however that NOT ONE of the 7 or 8 employees said a SINGLE WORD to me. No Hello, Welcome, May I help you, NOTHING. Even those who looked me in the eye. Not a word. Wow. I was & continue to be…stunned. They may be an LGBTQ+ friendly store but they were by no means friendly. Apparently they have no PRIDE in their customer service. Shameful.

Room has an excellent and well-curated selection of books, as well as a deep commitment to the surrounding community. It’s one of the few places in Madison where i truly feel safe, and i always walk out with a new treasure of a book (or, let’s be honest, a stack of them). It’s a wonderful place to be curious, and that curiosity will be rewarded tenfold.

Gorgeous store, and a place I make sure to take the time to visit I’m in Madison. I love how diverse the selection is, although it makes it difficult to get out the door without blowing an entire paycheque. ?As of my last visit in June of this year, they still required masks, which is something I really appreciate.Super kind and helpful staff. I really wish I lived closer so I could be here weekly!
