Cashier's need to make most of their time such as when store is empty or just one customer to fill areas that is empty. Such as, I was buying soup and the wrapped cracker section had unwrapped crackers in it. How often does those sections get cleaned and my checked? You know sometimes it's the little things that get overlooked. Maybe it's just the younger generation that is that way. Going the extra mile to constantly clean all areas more than once on your shift is what drums up more business and simply is job security!
