Snacks and drinks are always expired by months. Shelves are always empty or almost empty. Both stores have gone down the drain since the new ownership took over. Won't be returning to either of the stores.

Since the new owners took over 2023/24 both stations in Lake Mills have floundered.
The new ownership needs to "clean up" their act.

If I could give it a zero I would. There’s an older guy with gray hair guy working the counter that has been extremely rude BOTH times I’ve been in there and I’m always nice to customer service people because I’ve been one and I know it’s NOT easy. Because I tried using an EBT card (which he said they didn’t take there but I’m almost positive I’ve used it there before on top of the card reader giving options for both EBT food and cash). But anyway, he ended up checking my ten dollar bill with a sigh struggle because I tried paying with EBT. I also didn’t want a Mtn dew because it had some stuff floating around in it, and so after I paid for what I was getting I walked away and he rudely said “I guess I’ll just go put away the Mountain Dew.” I just smiled and kindly said, “that’s okay. I’ll do it.” I get that the public can be rude to customer service people. But it’s also time customer service people do better for the public as well.

We stopped here briefly while in town for a restroom break. On our way out, the cashier mumbled something under his breath and then said sarcastically "Thanks a lot!" when we left. I was left with the impression that I was expected to buy something there and not just use the restroom. Never going back if I'm going to get ridiculed for using the restroom! This was on 8/7/22 between 2 and 3 pm.

They have screens but they do NOT use them to scream advertisements at you. Thanks for keeping it peaceful.

I am super unhappy with the customer service I received. On our way up north we stopped here to get some snacks for the long drive. After leaving, about an hour into the drive I realized that the beef jerkey I had purchased was expired. I called the store and let them know and asked what I should do about getting reimbursed. I gave them my name and told them to print the receipt to put with it since they never gave me one. I also told them to double check the rest of the beef jerkey they had on the shelf in case there was more that were expired. Two days later when I came back into town I brought the expired beef jerkey in like they requested me to. I asked for my money back and the clerk told me he can not do that without a receipt and kind of argued with me a little bit. I told him that when I called two days ago I asked them to print a receipt, he said they did but the manager lost it. Not very happy I walked back to the aisle were the beef jerky was and found that they never checked the inventory and the whole box was expired. I brought the box up and asked them to please take this off the shelf and asked if I can leave my number to have the manager call me. Well almost two weeks have gone by, I stopped in twice, called once and still no one has called me back. I know its only $3 but that is not the point.

This gas station used to report to the police anyone who looked young past curfew to the lake mills police department. When I was 18 the police pulled me over saying I looked young and was the reason they pulled me over. Found out later the person who worked night shift was helping the police age profile people coming through town, and pulling people over for no legal reason what so ever.
