This place is a huge scam, lied about odometer having 3,000 miles actually had 98,000 miles. Drove 5.5 hours for this truck, avoid this con artist.

To say I'm disappointed, is an understatement. If I lived closer, I would be having a face to face conversation with the owner of the company. I purchased a vehicle from Hometown a few months ago. It was advertised that it ran and drove well. This was not the case. I live in a different state, so I had to have the vehicle shipped. I have bought many vehicles over the years, and I've never had one shipped to me. Needless to say, I will never do that again. I'm aware that used vehicles sold are as-is, but this was downright false advertisement. Once I received the vehicle, I took it out for a drive, excited to finally have it. Once I got to around 30mph, it started to shake violently, and there was a lot of noise being made. After getting it back home, I noticed leaks coming from the brake lines. I could no longer drive it, as it was unsafe with the leaking brake lines. I had it towed to a shop, and upon further inspection, it needed several repairs. The total cost of repairs ended up being several thousand dollars. Hard lesson learned. Buyer beware.

Talking with Rich, and working with Tyler to get a car that we were excited about was an absolute joy. They were easy to get along with and professional, and we were well prepared for the things that we needed to do to get a car we really liked. I would 100% recommend them as a reliable trustworthy place to buy a car, and I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

I've been looking for a replacement pickup truck for a little over a month now to replace my tired 2007 Chevy 2500HD Duramax with 354K miles on it. I love the quality and life expectancy. After my search began with around 20 models with less wear, and higher quality than mine. Many were cost prohibitive. As I narrowed my list to about 6 cars 2 of them stood out in quality and value. Both of those trucks were at the same dealership being Hometown Auto Exchange LLC. I had messaged them with interest in my 1st choice, and immediately Tyler at HomeTown answered all my questions. Also at the same time I had decided I was more interested in their other truck that peaked my interest. A day and a half later I made the 3 hour trip from Illinois to look at the truck in person. Sometimes pictures make a vehicle look far better than it is, but upon my inspection it exceeded my expectations. We reached a deal quickly and I picked the truck up today 08/26/22 and drove home real happy. If you are looking for a vehicle and don't need something brand new but are tired of overpriced used, give HomeTown a shot. The variety in their inventory is very broad as well.

I had a very NEGATIVE experience with Hometown Auto Exchange. A few weeks ago, I purchase a used truck from this establishment. I am fully aware used vehicles are purchased as is with warranties. When I initially looked at the vehicle and took it for a test ride, I brought my brother who was a mechanic so the vehicle could be inspected. There were some minor defects which were to be expected. I came back a week later and purchased the vehicle. My drive home was 75 miles from the dealership. After driving 60 miles, the engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic to perform a diagnostic. He informed me that the transmission needed to be replaced or rebuilt as it indicated a major fault. I was also informed the error codes were likely cleared to not indicate any problems and an additive was also likely added to the transmission fluid to disguise any problem during test drives. The repairs cost almost as much as the purchase price of the vehicle. If you decide to purchase a vehicle from Hometown Auto Exchange, I would STRONGLY recommend you obtain a clause for a full refund to return the vehicle within the first 100 miles if any, malfunction or engine failure lights appear. You will save yourself a lot of grief.
