I wish i would have read all the reviews before going and dropping $500 or more on this place. We went for someone's birthday, something he has waited 59 years to do. Spent 500 or more and everything was great until we go to leave. We then were ran after asking if we took their gems that were in the case. We were accused of stealing! We checked our bags to see if it was accidently placed in and we had nothing.. the guy there said ok have a good day so we started to leave. As we were leaving the awful owner came out and took some pictures of our car and license plate. We then turned around and asked what the issue was. She then lied said she was calling her husband and then lied again saying she was finding a place in town to eat and scrolled through her pictures to show she didn't take any pictures of us, she was already on her phone/images already deleted them as we walked up! She proceeded to tell us that they don't know where they could have went. They already have our entire information after we spent 350 in rings from them to be sent to our homes. Why would we need to steal any of your 'valuable' tiny rocks?! Very very odd experience and I'll never ever be back & I would NEVER recommend to anyone else. Find a different mining place, this one is a SCAM!

It seems like every time my family or myself comes to Wisconsin Dells, we always stop at the Dells mining Co. This year while on vacation, my two boys and I enjoyed doing the blue bucket for around $85 and the red bucket around $50. My boys and I got some pretty cool jewels including two huge Krystal's two gemstones. My older son was lucky enough to get his birthstone. This place was very clean, friendly, and helpful when it came time to explain all of the different rocks, gems, and stones. Thank you!

For 20$ plus tax my kid got to shift for rocks for 15 minutes. There was big rocks and tiny one. At the tables they go over the rocks you collect and talk about their value. My kid only cared that there was a big pink rock. This was a nice activity to do with a kid.

Fun place for the kids. They just raised their prices. Can get pricy if you want more crystals. We did the lowest option for $20 and our 2 kids split the bucket. They still got about 6 bigger crystals. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! They told us which crystals the kids got and how rare/commen they were. They weren't pushy about paying to get them cut and polished.

It’s pricey, just say that upfront. Buckets of sad and rocks cost $15-$185. We bought the $80 option. We shared a bucket between two of us. It was fun just to learn about the stones and what they were. You get one cut and polished stone with every bucket. Our had a garnet in it. We had some amethyst, ruby, garnet, bloodstone, rose quartz, crystals, and emeralds in ours and one other stone that can be turned into 6-8 other stone versions depending on the heat process used. They try to sell you on having your stones cut, polished and mounted, but you do t have too. It was $399 a carat to do that I believe. Fun if nothing else and you can always have your stones cut, polished and turned into jewelry later.

Kids had a lot of fun shift the sand and discovering the stones. The jewelry settings are reasonably priced. It was a fun experience

Spent 40 for a bucket, will charge you 2 dollars for a paper card for kids to identify rocks. They don't value their repeat customers.

I treated myself to the highest priced bucket your site provides. When I revealed a large (fist sized) piece of asphalt, your response was “it happens”. Really? You get $200 of our money, and when a useless piece that takes up a good amount of space in the bucket shows up, you think it’s just unfortunate. This experience WAS the biggest thing looking forward to… now I just feel like I got had.

This is fun for a quick experience with your kids. Ours had fun sifting the sand to find the “jewels” inside! We thought it would be fun to get gems in order to turn them into unique pieces of jewelry for each of our girls. I know a gal that does this, so we didn’t want to do this feature through Dells Mining Co. The only part of the experience we didn’t enjoy was after talking with the gal about what each of our gems were, as soon as we said we didn’t want to have them cleaned and set, she immediately got up, ignored us and walked away to go sit on her phone. I completely understand part of her job is to sell, but don’t treat your customers like they aren’t worthy of your time if they don’t want to do a secondary service after already paying money. Otherwise we had a great time.

The kids had so much fun. What a great place and a great time. I also had a lot of fun, and when you are done, they tell you what each crystal is very cool
