Quickly diagnosed my condition. Offered both a conservative option and a more invasive. Throughly explained each.

My wife had an inflamed toe. Dr. Bernstein and staff saw her within an hour and treated her toe. We are grateful for their help.

Dr Hook did ankle surgery for a torn ligament in March. I found out afterward that I never should have had surgery. He should have prescribed physical therapy. I noticed on other reviews that he is quick to recommend surgery that is not necessary. Please get second opinion if this happens to you. I have had nothing but complications, excruciating pain and unable to walk properly. I found out after surgery that his fellow, Edgar sy, did a large part of my surgery without my knowledge or consent. I got a second opinion after surgery from doctor at Illinois Bone and Joint. They ordered an EMG and MRI for me which showed extensive nerve damage in my foot and leg (that Dr Hook can’t explain) and MRI showed ligament that Dr Hook supposedly repaired is still torn, which Dr Hook is denying. I was literally in his office reading the MRI report and he was looking at the image and he’s denying that it’s still torn. He has no problem lying to your face and has zero regard for my well being. I also fell in the Advocate Surgery Center in LIbertyville after the surgery. I had just woken up and needed to use the restroom. They put me on crutches to walk by myself while I had a cast and nerve block and was just coming out of anesthesia. I fell and smashed foot. Have spoken with attorney and this is clearly malpractice. Dr Hook and surgery center are giving me the run around because they don’t want to take responsibility. There were so many other red flags when dealing with Dr Hook that is too much to mention. I’m reporting this to Illinois Department of Health as I really don’t want to see this happen to others. I wish I had never stepped foot in his office. Go elsewhere if you need to see a specialist.

He takes the time to discuss the situation, discuss the options, and agree on a course of action. He didn't just jump to a surgical solution which I appreciate.

Best experience with medical professionals in a long time. I should have come in sooner. I learned more in one appointment than in a year with my previous podiatrist. I feel like there may finally be a solution.

Wanted to set an appointment but had questions that couldn't be answered online. Called the office, and the phone rang until an automated system answered and offered to call me back. Two weeks later, still no call back.
