Update, PSV has since sent me a letter stating they no longer want my business. I respond w, as if I would EVER BRING MY PET OR AN ENEMY FOR THAT MATTER TO YOUR FACILITY! I also told them I've already found several other reputable places to take my pets but it still won't stop me from filing a complaint w the Dept of Agriculture (like I did) or making sure you're held accountable for the obvious neglect and ill will you show toward your patients.
I've been going to PSV since 2013 or so and have had 3 dogs they've seen as patients. Although in the last few yrs they've had many turnovers w doctors and staff, I hadn't had any problems or concerns, until recently. To make it short n sweet. My current dog [D'og] was going for a routine surgery (sx). The Dr that I'm familiar w apparently left and no one thought to tell anyone abt it. A Dr I did NOT approve of did sx on my dog which was botched. She secretly gave my 140 lb Rottweiler another dose of anesthesia ONCE MY HUSBAND LEFT THE FACILITY. This caused my dogs heart rate to drop below 30 bpm and they had to bring him out of anesthesia b4 it was too late. They never gave preinstructions prior to sx or discussed the pros n cons of tye sx. All paperwork was signed but not discussed thoroughly the morning of the sx at 7:30am (b4 8am), and charged me a whole extra $1000 above the 'estimated range of costs' for their incompetence. The Dr who performed the surgery had an amputated or missing left hand and could barely examine, let alone restrain my dog should a problem arise. There were other vet techs there and even the largest one needed my husband's assistance when examining or doing anything w ANY OF MY DOGS (Rottweiler/Cane Corso/Rottweiler-Mastiff)! They changed the charges to reflect their mistake. They weren't available for the next several days and we had to take him to another vet 'hospital' to get his botched sx addressed. When I finally got them to see me in person, Dr Huggins [who has one limb and performed the sx] was nasty, standoffish, and arrogant in her position that it was 'our fault'. I tried to have the matter escalated but THEY NEVER CALLED ME, I ALWAYS CALLED THEM! I finally went to the facility again face to face to have a talk and AGAIN, Dr Huggins was rude and arrogant (which I caught on tape). She also stuttered over her words and looked uncomfortable which I also caught in tape. I left telling them I was seeking an attorney to sue her and her employer. Just yesterday, I received a packet from them 'certified mail' stating they could no long be my vet. My reply to that is; AS IF THAT WASN'T ALREADY IMPLIED WITH MY STATEMENT THAT I WAS PURSUING LITIGATION AGAINST YOU! You people can take your pets there if you want to but, I would rather eat the ocean with a fork before I'd let anyone at this 'new facility' w their new attitudes and criminal accounting touch any of my pets nor will I EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE FRIEND OR ENEMY! Go there at your own risk! And I applaud the older couple that left after hearing how they treated me and my pet. These are ALL FACTS so there will be no defamation of character or liable! I also know of two pple that have worked there and can tell you how they operate as well. Oh and, they also have the nerve to have an outstanding balance of $124 for cream my dog needed after their botched surgery.

Lori is very rude, condescending, and unprofessional - she even hung up on me. I’ve been coming here for a few years with 3 animals, each visit gets worse and worse. Take your business elsewhere.

A new vet during each visit and not a comfortable space for your pet. Others in the area prioritize minimizing anxiety/stress at each visit, definitely not Prairie Side

I’ve had a past experience with a pet being hurt so I was extremely terrified to go to the vet. I was unbelievably anxious for myself and pet but as soon as I walked in it was very quiet and calm. The staff were all extremely sweet, professional, and accommodating. They explained everything in detail to me and made my entire experience just perfect. I will never go anywhere else, thank you to all the staff who helped me :))

We are visiting from out of town and although they did not have an appointment they suggested a walk-in vet and alternatives to getting the meds my dog needs. Very helpful.

Took my 3 year old feral cat in because I was concerned about some behavior issues. He normally is extremely shy, in fact, he normally hides from strangers. But he just melted into the neck of Brook..that spoke volumes to me. I knew I was in the right place for him. When it comes time, his two cat brothers will also meet Brook, along with his canine brother. BTW, problem resolved.

July 7th 2022; CURBSIDE ONLY!?!?I WAS NOT told this when I scheduled the appointment; I would not have made the appt had I known I wouldn’t be allowed to be with my pet during his appointment!Took my yr old pet for his appointment to be met by signs in the parking lot to “call” when you arrive.???! (Okay, I call)They take info, tell me a tech will call just before the appt time. I’m Thinking maybe they make people wait in their cars until your scheduled time??Okay, not fun, dog wants out, he’s excited, he’s panting, warm wet dog breath, it’s warm outside, it’s getting warm in the car, fresh double bagged “stool sample” is finding a way to smell up the car, soooo much fun grrr.Tech calls me, I now learn that I won’t be allowed in with my pet, WHAT?WHO makes an appointment with a doctor, whether for yourself OR your pet, and doesn’t actually BELIEVE you are going to see and speak with a doctor!?!?I get apologies, apologies, and more apologies.I am NOT having my pet be seen by anyone I can’t meet and see.I am NOT turning my pet over to strangers, to be taken away into a building neither of us has ever been in, to experience what?Pain? Stress? Anxiety? Fear? Confusion? Abandonment?Am I to blindly believe that my pet is actually being seen by a doctor?Am I to blindly believe that my pet actually received the services that I am billed for?Am I to blindly believe my pet is being treated with care? No! Trust is earned through experiences. This was our first experience, no trust has yet been earned. This was our “introduction” to your clinic, and business. No thank you.

Let me start by saying Tawny and Kim have always been great & helpful. However, the Veterinarian’s have been quite terrible not only to me, but my dogs. About 3 years ago, after bringing my dog into the office, we had to turn around and bring my dog to the emergency vet. Had we not brought her Into the emergency vet she would of died. When we took her into the office at Prairie Side the Vet on staff never once took x-rays to even see what was going on. My dog had a bladder stone that was lodged in her urethra and she couldn’t urinate. When I called to tell the office what happened they acted surprised that nothing was done when we took her in the office. My dog is also Insulin dependent and a very anxious dog. As of lately, now they won’t refill my dogs insulin because they are saying she has to have another glucose curve. Mind you nothing has changed with my dog and she has been doing fine. This place does NOT care about your pets at ALL! They only are out for the money. We have dumped thousands of dollars into this place and have not ever been given accurate responses on a diagnosis for my dog. It’s always oh, you need to go to a specialist. I am absolutely livid with this place and their lack of care for animals as well as humans! Dr. Susmilch and Dr. Kreuser are the absolute worst Veterinarian’s and I will never recommend this place to anyone EVER!

The staff here are amazing, and I understand that they are understaffed. However, I've been trying to call them for 3 days and I keep getting a message telling me to try calling back and that they are busy. It's impossible to set up an appointment like this. I've never had this issue with any other vets.

Continuously cancels appointments due to staffing issues. Caused us to have our dog revaccinated because the time frame for his boosters had lapsed due to them continuously canceling or rescheduling his appointment. We have since gone with a different vet due to their unreliability.
