I never write reviews of things online, but if I can help stop someone from making the same mistake I did by going here I will. The service department is truly one of the most terrible places I have ever gone. I had to beg to be called back, I would call multiple times a day with no updates on my car. When I originally dropped my car off I called and they had told me after looking at it, it was going to be under my powertrain warranty and I would not have to worry about it. After a week I called again, no response, I called again, no response. My tech was always “busy with a customer” and would not take my calls. I went a month simply not knowing what was wrong with my car because they were going through Kia’s warranty department- which I understand warranty can be timely. But I went to another dealership yesterday who was able to look up the part immediately and tell me it wasn’t under warranty in 30 seconds, unsure why it took them 30 days to figure that one out. During this time I was asking if I could get a loaner car, to which they told me they had none available, but once they had one they would let me know. They never did, and when it came back as not under warranty, the story changed- and they could not give me one due to me being 23- and “kias policy” is that I can’t get one because of my age. Which I later found out is a lie, they simply just didn’t want to give me a car. You would think after my car being there a month and a half with no work, and paying $3,300 they would want to do that for me. Once they came back and told me it wasn’t under warranty, they said it was going to be $3,300, which I paid because I just wanted my car back. They did the work, and I picked it up Tuesday. Thursday I was driving and the exact same issue happened AGAIN. I called and of course the tech that was working on my car was “busy with a customer”. I promised myself I would never go back to this dealership for anything ever again after how horribly I was treated. Which I didn’t, I took it to another dealership who ran codes and it was the exact same issue- to which they said palmen misdiagnosed. I can’t even explain the mental toll this entire thing has cost me, this truly was the worst experience I have faced. I have never been treated so poorly, been blatantly ignored when simply just wanting to know what was going on with my car, and I feel scammed. Unfortunately I do think I was taken advantage of here, and I can talk poorly about the service all day- but as humans they should be ashamed for treating another person this way.

I liked that we were approached right away but didn’t feel pressured to buy. Gene Tellez was so helpful and kind throughout the process as our salesperson. He had a lot of great information and helped guide us in picking the right vehicle for our family. The dealership was clean and well kept. Others we interacted with in the dealership were very kind and helpful as well. Overall a great car buying experience and I got the car of my dreams!!

Let me tell you about an experience my daughter had with this dealership. I hope the owner reads this!!! She brought her 2019 Kia Niro into the dealership on 7/24/24 due to the check engine light coming on & the car failing, she brought it in, they couldn’t give her a car to drive while her car was being looked at. They had to see if Kia would cover it under warranty. Weeks went by with no updates as my daughter is spending money on a rental car. I then intervened. I was in the car industry for over 10 yrs back in the day. After voicemail after voicemail & no return calls from Charlotte in service & Victor the service mgr who said he would definetly follow up with me, never did, neither one did! Then finally 3 weeks later my daughter gets a call after they ran diagnoses on her car. Charlotte said that it won’t be covered under the warranty & it would be $3,500 which I negotiated them down to a little over $3,300. My daughter paid it. Charlotte said that it wouldn’t be ready for 2 weeks so she should get a rental car for this period of time! This was not acceptable, how do you not give your customer a car to drive during that time! We were both furious. So, my daughter paid for a rental car again for 2 weeks! Charlotte called a week later & said your car is ready!!! This is not acceptable, now she is out the money she spent for a rental car for a week! She picks the car up on 8/28 & a day later the check engine lights up again, the vehicle acting the same way when she first brought it in! She was treated disrespectful when she called into the dealership & had enough!! My daughter & I are in high profile sales positions! If we treated our clients the way your dealership did, we would not have a job. I would reevaluate your staff if they are truly capable. Not! She took her Kia to a dealership in McHenry which is near where her dad & I live, the codes that they ran were the same as when she brought it into your dealership, they said that you miss diagnosed the actual problem & charged her for something that more than likely would have been covered by the power train warranty! My daughter upset, distressed wanted to know what to do. I then called Todd Martin at Martin Chevrolet in Crystal Lake with whom I have a friendship with & worked with & purchased new and used vehicles from and explain the situation. She traded the car in. He was very fair. The sales person who I have known when I was in the car business still works for him very respectful and now she has a new Chevy Trax! I do not recommend this dealership for purchasing or for service work! My daughter paid out-of-pocket something that probably would’ve been covered under the warranty if someone took the time to actually diagnose her problem correctly. Waste of time & money!!
