This is easily one of the best small museums I have ever been to. It has a stunning collection of a diversity of predatory dinosaurs that is unprecedented. The layout of the exhibit invites inquiry and observation. Each dinosaur is given context and perspective for children all the way to seasoned paleo-nerds. This is truly a gem of a museum, Kenosha should be proud!

This is a quaint little museum was once tbe post office and now is the Dinosaur Museum. There are about a dozen dinosaurs on display on the main floor. The basement has a dig area for children and showcases a lab on what happens once a bone discovery is brought in.
There is a small gift shop. The Museum is free, but donations are needed to keep this museum going.
I did not take pictures. Stop by and see the ?. Children will love it.

Small but interesting self paced exhibits. Lots of information placards with details for the little scientist to the Dino hunter. You can give a donation or visit for free.
Area specific for kids to play and learn.
Would expect to stay for 15-45 minutes depending on how much you want to read.

The fact that this museum is free is such a cool, hidden gem of Kenosha.
My friends and I love dinosaurs, so it was a no brainer to give this museum a try and we loved it! It's not super big, but definitely has enough to explore for a good hour or so. Well worth the time. Thank you to all of the individuals that help keep an experience like this free for admission. This is what makes Kenosha special.

Great time at the Dino Museum, until the gift shop. Karen who works in the gift shop completely overstepped as decided to scold my child over a $5 sucker. He dropped it and I seen it happen, as any child world say "I don't want this anymore", before I could say no we are buying that one because you dropped it Karen jumps out of her chair to say "Well you dropped it so you have to buy it!"
Excuse me, this is my child. Do not try and parent my child.
"Well I can't sell a broken sucker".
Calm down Karen! Its a $1.00 sucker at actual cost that yall charge $5 for profit.
I will buy the sucker that was dropped, as for you over stepping not acceptable.
She continued to justify why she is being so rude. I checked out with my $23.00 order when I should have said no thank you to everything.
I asked for her managers info to make my complaint as her whole attitude changed to smug as nothing will happen. "You sure can", "Do you need a bag?" "Anything else?"
No Karen.
Now getting home, my child said "
I never want to go back there, and I don't want that sucker anymore."
I know buddy, and I'm sorry we went too.
So I called Dawn DeLine "her manager" to make my complaint.
If anyone else encounters Karen defend your child as I did mine.
Not today Karen!

Impressive one-room museum! I was worried by some reviews it would be small. Well.. it’s small but packed!! Our toddler LOVED it and it was just the right size and time amount for him! Donations accepted instead of tickets, but surprisingly a lot here to enjoy, when the Chicago Field Museum seems like a lot, and this was focused primarily on just dinosaurs!(Which is what drew us the most!)
We enjoyed walking through the large room a few times taking our time, then enjoying the front entrance area where there are some kid-friendly activities - costumers/puzzles/ hands-on exhibits. Downstairs (basement) there is an official dinosaur lab and an open toy/play area! Also a dig box for fossils! Very pleasantly surprised coming from about an hour away-drive. Our little Dino-lover LOVED it!

The family was looking forward to this. But, what really ruined it was the downstairs area. They have a bin with some "dinosaur bones" to discover. Paint brushes to do some fun paleontology play. And a woman yelling at kids to not use their fingers at all. Because "The oils on your fingers break down dinosaur bones."
Seriously, if it was a bunch of 12-year-olds or something, that would be one thing. But my 3-year-old isn't going to understand why your fake plastic dinosaur bones can't be touched with his fingers. My 6-year-old did okay. But I was afraid to let my 1-year-old get near it for fear that the yelling lady would get onto him. It was ridiculous. She was ridiculous. It's one thing to teach them about the fact that paleontologists Don't touch bones for fear of fragility and breakdown, but yelling a kids to not touch plastic bones that are in a bin that's identical to every sensory been ever is kind of ridiculous...

Very fun little FREE museum, donations recommended and well deserved. Definitely quality over quantity I was very impressed with the display but FYI it is primarily one smallish room. It is probably most appealing to younger kids. My almost 3 year old had a BLAST with costumes, puzzle, interactive displays. A very nice paleontologist? was supervising a dig exhibit in the basement. Very cool display of two dinosaurs fossilized while fighting

A very nice small museum /research facility. Despite it's indeed a single big room upstairs with dinosaur skeleton copies and small interactive space, it's incredibly densely and thoughtfully packed. It took us with a 4yo 40-50 min to study them all. In the basement there is a very nice small kids activity area with toys/puzzles and a working preparation/research lab with multiple exhibits from latest field trips (really enjoyed watching the active lab). Definitely worth a visit!

Dinosaur Discovery Museum is another hidden gem found in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This museum focuses on bird evolution from theropod dinosaurs. It's a great museum to see notable theropod species ( Carnotaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, and of course Tyrannosaurus rex). As an addition, the renowned paleontologist Tomas Carr is the head of the museum!

Stopped here on our way to the Wisconsin Atate Fair. My daughter said she loves it there! It’s small but the layout is so creative! It’s a great place!
