I never had a problem with the units at ko storage, they helped out a lot with getting the paperwork to you and it was fast and easy.

KO Storage is a horrible company to rent from. All they care about is the money they collect from you. They bought a facility on Juneau, WI about 3 years ago and it has only been a nightmare dealing with them ever since. I have rented from this facility for over 15 years, 6 months at a time. There are so many negatives about this facility now and how it is managed to list. The top most recent issues are: they tried to increase my rent less than 2 months from the beginning of my last rental agreement that was higher than what they advertised on line. First, they didn't provide me with a 30 day notice like their contract states they have to, they couldn't provide me with a proof of mailing, and then had to fight them to return my rent to what it was or I was going to move out and not pay them any further rent. So, if you like to see your rent increase almost immediately after you rent from them, after they attract you to their facility with a reasonable rate, this is the company you should rent from. Second, they will pro-rate your move in and take your money but they refuse to pro-rate your move out and return your refund even though you have to give them a 30 day notice. But when I asked them to provide me with a copy of the contract because everything is electronically signed, they never did. They don't tell you this even though they know when you may move out because of the 30 day requirement and to make matters worse, they won't return your calls even though an issue like this gets elevated to upper management. I had to call them 4 times and left several emails, before one of the CSR's finally told me they refused to pro-rate my move out. Third, I always clean my rental spot before moving out, but when I moved in I had to clean the prior renter's mess so I could move in. Management is suppose to make sure all units are ready to be moved in and cleaned. I have never seen any manager inspecting or keeping an eye on this facility since they bought the facility and not to mention it is not a secure site. No fenced in facility, No cameras, and the area around each unit is a gravel, rutted/washed out areas around several units. Huge drops from gravel to concrete pad of the storage unit. If you are not careful you can twist an ankle very easy. This facility is not plowed in a timely manner in winter and when it is, they plow you in forcing you to shovel several feet in front of your unit or to get to your door. Damaged gutters and when it rains it pours down in front of your storage unit. There was actually a section of gutter missing above the unit I rented last from a prior renter or most likely a truck hitting it. I informed them when I moved in of the damage and when I moved out 6 months later, it still wasn't repaired. Again, I have only had issues year after year since KO Storage bought this facility and was very disheartened when the prior small entrepreneur sold this facility to a huge corporate giant. They just lost a long time repeat loyal paying customer and they don't appear to even care.
After spending over $1,500 with this company they refuse to refund me my fair share of my unused portion of rent of $63.73. You do the math. They would rather loose a customer than gain several more. Word of mouth is the best advertisement and I believe in Karma. Consumer beware.

The website needs a lot of work it is NOT user friendly. Can not backup to check something. Had to call to do things like change your email. It took me more than 3 times to get the info in correctly. Very unclear what they want.

Super clean, easy online transaction, so many lights so it's easier to unload stuff at 530pm in November when it's already dark out (THANK YOU! ). Very smooth move in. Never gone thru this company before, so even in my first week I'm happy.

Huge increase in rent to "provide better services" yeah ok. 3 ft tall weeds in front of doors, never plowed in winter. Oh wait, we'll increase rent again. Sad to see what was a great unit from the former owners turned to greed. Was here for 10 years, the last 2 have been terrible. Good riddance.
