They are so professional and willing to work with your needs. I appreciated their suggestions to give the fuller look I wanted to achieve. They didn't push Aveda products but did share that if I wanted it to turn like they had it, to use this or that. No judgement if I chose not to.

I’ve had many fabulous experiences here over the past several years. Always felt so pampered and the stylists were very knowledgeable, highly skilled and professional. Aveda products are also seriously the best.
However, in the past year, I’ve had 2 visits where it was obvious the stylist was extremely inexperienced. This last time was shocking honestly. It didn’t take long to realize she was new by how slow and meticulous she worked to take maybe an inch off my length when I asked for 2-3”. I asked for layers to be added to my hair that frame my face. She asked me where I wanted layers to fall and I specified around the cheekbone. She never added layers at all but instead only went around the bottom, barely taking anything off. I showed a picture and expected something somewhat similar but instead left an hour and 45 mins later with my hair looking almost exactly as it did when I walked in. She did a fine job trimming my bangs, but poked me in the nose twice with the scissors. I don’t mean to be dramatic, but as I sat there wondering how many haircuts she’s done, with the scissors near my eyes, I was afraid. She never once touched the back of my head at the shampoo bowl. There was a dry patch back there when I got up.
I expressed my disappointment and they worked really hard to make it right by not charging me and offering a next day appt with a different stylist, which was nice. I’ve chosen not to return because I think it’s unacceptable to place a stylist who is that inexperienced in a high end salon with a full price paying customer without their knowledge. It’s not fair to the customer or the stylist. If you ask for an experienced stylist when you make your appt, you will probably have a wonderful experience here. I just don’t think that should be necessary when we pay $75 for a haircut. Please do better Simple Scissors. We enjoy having you around.

I recently moved away from Janesville but this is my hometown salon. Sari was my hairdresser for around 7 years and I never left an appointment disappointed. She was always so excited to catch up and easy to work with. Cutting, styling, coloring, hospitality -- she always went above and beyond. She gave me my bangs before I went off to college <3.Cannot give enough praise to this lovely establishment. The people working here are very professional and fun and know their clients inside and out. 100/10 recommend!Services: Shampoo & conditioning

I called this salon inquiring about the American wave they offer as a service. I spoke with the GM Ashley. I had a wedding to go to in April. I explained to her that my hair is very fine. She assured me that the stylist that would be doing my hair was extremely experienced in doing this service. I would like to add that I have long blonde hair that was very healthy when I walked into the salon. The young stylist that did my hair wrapped it so poorly that I couldn't even get the top of my hair to style. I let the salon know this and was told that they would bring me back in to rewrap the top of my head. They allowed this same young girl to do the wrap with minimum guidance. I also would like to add that I was charged for this service. In addition, speaking with this young stylist, she told me, she had in fact, only done about three perms and is. "learning." This wrap did nothing to correct the problem. I went home and chunks of my hair were falling out in my sink. it burned parts of my hair off in chunks. I sent these pictures to the salon. I asked for the owner Rachel to contact me. I was told, I can go some place else to get it fixed." Rachel was aware of this situation and never once as the owner offered to even look at the damage to my hair. Even after I requested her to. She in fact sent me a check for $178 dollars as if this is supposed to compensate for my damaged hair. She was more than aware that burnt chunks of my hair were falling out, as I sent her the pictures. Rachel does not stand up to her salons word at all. instead, if there is adversity she will tell you to go some place else. I now have to wait at least a few months before I can even think to have it permed again. Rachel should be ashamed of herself for running a business and having very little care about customer service. $178 is not going to fix my hair Rachel. I would NEVER recommend anyone to use her services. Make sure your staff is trained before you take people's money. I don't blame your new stylist for my damaged hair. I blame you for not properly training her.

Great service and kind welcoming people. Rachel's color formula was fantastic and Tobi killed it on my nails.

Was referred to Simply Scissors by a colleague and went for my first cut and color in 6 years! Rachel is a miracle worker and I have never had a better cut and color. Highly recommended - I booked my next 2 appointments before I left. Will also be returning with my daughter for a pedicure day! Did I mention Aveda? The smell is divine!Services: Haircut

This was my first time at Simple Scissors. In recent years, I have gone to a nearby walk-in haircutters and just gotten basic trims, but I am looking for a more styled cut to try now. Simple Scissors made it easy to make an appointment online. When I arrived, they were welcoming and gave a brief tour. And, Kayla did a great job of taking a few minutes to ask what I wanted from my hair style, and she listened really well. The cut she did is just what I was asking for and it looks fantastic! I've had a smile all day! Thanks Kayla!Service: Hairstyling

Unfortunately it was the worst pedicure I’ve ever paid for. I’m sure they’re great for hair, but do not go here for a pedicure. As soon as she started trying to trim my toenails I knew it wasn’t going to be good. At first I thought she was trying to be careful but I quickly realized she had probably never given a pedicure in this salon. The nails aren’t cut straight, there was polish all over my skin when I left, and she didn’t didn’t paint the nails completely. Then I went to pay and they charged me $47 when it says $42 on their website and the price sheet in the salon. The only explanation I got was that things weren’t updated and they don’t pick the prices. Very unprofessional.Service: Pedicures

Kayla did an EXCELLENT job on my cut. For me, my favorite part was when washing my hair, she massaged my scalp. Talk about RELAXING. We had to wait a few minutes for the conditioner..during this time she massaged my hands. So NICE! I am so happy to have found this lovely Aveda salon and especially Kayla! This is will be my forever salon.I also appreciate the text reminders for appointments.
