We had two different tonsillectomies back-to-back and they were both done very quickly and efficiently and everything was clean and the way we wanted it to be the pharmacy even delivered the drugs straight to our room and we were able to leave on time. We were very pleased with all of the service and the staff

Went to mercy East urgent care on a Sunday for my lower back that I pulled lifting a package. The nursing staff was extremely rude and felt like I was bothering her with my problem. Dr came in 10 minutes later n said they had no X-ray tech there so I have to go to mercy north. I told him it is muscle n he did the catholic cross to me and said "I can't magically fix you". so I went to north n sat there for a hour and a half dr came in I told her I pulled my muscle I've done it before can I please get a work note. She did not do any X-rays got me a letter for work and muscle relaxers. She was extremely nice and listened to me as I know this just takes time to work out. What a waste of time. Close your doors mercy East if you can't take the time to listen to patients!!!

***Long read*** Where do i even start? 7/4/2023 I had an accident where my horse reared, fell over backwards, and landed on my right knee. I was taken to the main Mercy via ambulance. I was given tests upon arrival. Told no breaks, and given the option to stay to watch for a brain bleed, and for pain control for my knee. I opted to stay, with the understanding of going home the following day. On 7/5, I was told that they were going to tap my knee and drain fluid (see photo of knee damage). After waiting all day, I was told they are not draining it but are going to do an MRI. I asked if my knee replacement would distort the images. Dr. Bangert did not even realize I'd had prior surgical procedures to the right knee, despite me mentioning it more than once. He also prescribed a medication on my allergy list. (I had asked for benadryl) I also had to bring my own dialysis cycler and supplies from home. Both Dr. Bangert and another Dr then came to the room to talk. I've never been treated so badly by a "PROFESSIONAL " before in my life. I was in tears, hyperventilating. Talking to me like I'm stupid. To the point where a CT tech was telling me how sorry she was, and there was no reason to be spoken to that way. They were treated me like a criminal. Mandy, the nursing manager came to talk to me due to a nurse refusing meds, or help. I had put in a request to transfer to UW Madison, or St. Marys in Madison. I was denied At this point, i had my dialysis nurse, and clinic social worker on speaker listening. They had asked her name in case they had to call. I only gave the first name, Mandy. Mandy then demanded to know who i was speaking to. I told her politely, it was a private call. She said ok then, walked out and slammed my room door. Refused to discharge me or transfer me. Told me if I wanted to leave. I would have to do it AMA, Therefore Chancing my listing with mayo clinic for a kidney transplant. They even put a security officer outside my door. Not once did I raise my voice, All I did let's try to advocate for myself and my own health. I ended up signing the AMA form, and added my own notes to it, stating I was forced to sign. I feared for my health and safety. Mandy then said I needed to wait 7-10 days for a copy of the AMA and I'd have to contact medical records. She, the nurses, and Dr's refused to also sign their portion of the AMA form. I did get a copy in the end though. (Albeit unsigned by them). As soon as I left Mercy, I went to St Mary's in Madison. I was admitted, with a slight fever and signs on infection in the injured knee. I was seen immediately by the PA, an orthopedic surgeon, and hospitatalist. They agreed to tap my knee immediately, and got out 3 large Syringes of yellow fluid. I was admitted and surgical plans were made for today 7/7/2023 to go in, clean the infection and flush the joint. I was also started on antibiotics. Had I stayed at mercy, who knows how bad this would end? I could have lost my replacement. I could have gotten sepsis. Worse case, I could have died.

We have been here for over three hours and cannot get anyone to help us. It is not busy at all in the ER. We have been sitting here with another family whose loved one is in horrible pain and has been sitting here longer than us. My mom is 82 and took a terrible fall. Nobody seems to care. If it was busy I would totally understand. I have heard terrible things about this hospital, and I now understand why. The lack of compassion from all staff is heartbreaking. Every time we politely inquire about my mom's results we are told that somebody will be out soon. I hope that the people who work here never have to watch their own family go through what I have witnessed tonight. The woman sitting next to me is begging to be seen and crying in pain. Again, it is NOT BUSY! Where is the empathy? This big beautiful hospital does not want to hire enough workers to help three people in the ER or they don't care. Either way, we are never coming back. These people deserve better. Rockford deserves better. If you are going to come into our town, put your name on a big building, then have some pride and make sure you are serving the community as best you can. Sadly, this is not the case. Shame on you Javon Bea. I hope your loved ones never suffer like this.

Personally I won’t ever go back to this specific emergency room. The emergency room nurse pulled up my records and the first thing she said to me was, “Wow you have a lot of health problems for a 20 year old.” First of all no I don’t and second of all I don’t understand how you can be a nurse and think that it’s acceptable to say something like that to a patient. Since when is it okay to judge people based off of their medical history?

Nurse staff was rude to almost hostile, doctor gave me meds that can't be taken with my previous meds which cost me another trip to the er the next day. If you have any choice go anywhere else.

I think it’s improved so much over the last year. Amazing ER doctors and nurses who truly care and listen. I think they’re better than SSM and am hoping to switching over next year! Thanks for all the care and understanding.

I went into the trauma center fairly late at night after having punctured my finger with a box cutter. The receptionist was highly receptive to my situation. The doctor was nice and supportive and the RN did an amazing job. Most importantly as a non binary individual who was female presenting at the time the staff did not bat an eye. I was not treated any differently because of the way I was dressed. I felt confident that they cared about my situation as much as anyone else’s and that it was okay to present as my full self while in there care. For all of this it truly was a five star worthy experience from the team working tonight

The er staff for not professional at all I don't recommend this ER. They tried to use what they know about me to make me uncomfortable, refused me medication and didn't even offer me a blanket. Refused me food until the cafeteria was closed. Tried to make me more uncomfortable. I will never go back to this ER again

Go somewhere else, trust me! They drag out care as long as possible to make as much money as they can.

The doctor here need to learn to listen to their patients we've lived in our bodies longer and know when something is going on and sometimes how to handle it. I was admitted Sunday afternoon and long story short my symptoms are out of control because they refuse to do what works to manage them so now I'm more miserable then I was when I came in only good thing they did was admit me.so if you have a choice I recommend anywhere but here for your medical needs.

My mom had two knee replacements at this hospital and they were very good at keeping me well-informed and comfortable. My mom was taken care of and the front desk staff help me with anything I needed. Both times I went to the hospital I ate in the cafeteria which is easy to find and stocked with great healthy choices.

I twisted my ankle really badly the other day while playing basketball. I was in so much pain and the ankle was so swollen, I wasn't able to walk on it at all. I absolutely hate going to Emergency Rooms, and although I can't say I'd like to repeat the experience of being in the waiting room; once I actually got back to the doctor I had an excellent experience. Dr. Amuka was very pleasant. He explained that they were busy but that my time was important to them (which was nice to hear), and then he took the time to actually sit down and listen to me. As busy as they were, he didn't make me feel like my issue was not important enough to be in the E.R. He pulled up images on the computer to show me what normal should like and then he showed me my xray. Thankfully, I didn't need surgery; and things got better like he said they would. And although I still hate going to ER's, because of this experience, I feel like I'd be in excellent hands if something more serious were to come up. Thank you, Dr. Amuka! ...now if only other ER docs could have the same kind of compassion and bedside manner.

Here it goes.. Am not going to talk about its facilities , building and smile of a doctor. All i need from Emergency care was treatment to my wife when she was not able to walk, sit, speak since she lost all her energy . Severe diarrhea and vomiting. We waited in registration for 15mins - receptionist asked lot of questions and history . Then a nurse came and asked for same question started with "whats going on? " . She had exclusive questions to my wife when she was not in a situation to speak. Then they took to a room and gave a bed. Another nurse came and she introduced herself that she will take care of my wife today. started with same question "whats going on?" this time i answered all questions. took temperature and BP , gone. After 15mins doctor came , started with same question "whats going on?" , ( i was thinking DONT YOU GUYS READ WHAT ALL THREE OF THEM WROTE SOMEWHERE?? INSTEAD START TREATING.) and i answered , she had exclusive questions to my wife , she managed to answer and said , its paining and am so tired please give me something. She said without the urine and blood routine we cannot do anything . another nurse took her for urine test - have asked the same story it seems. Yet another nurse came for blood sample - asked the same question, this time i went for rescue. then they gave a solution to drink which will create numbness starting from your throat till stomach. (this is a temporary stuff for couple hours). All reports came as nothing. Then doctor came informed about ultra sound person coming in. She came and asked same questions ( this time i cannot save her). Another 30mins report came as nothing. Doctor came and asked us to leave. IS EMERGENCY CARE , FOR US OR FOR DOCTORS ? She is living with pain, vomiting and diarrhea. Doctor said she has prescribed a medicine to stop vomiting and that should be in walgreens nearby hospital within few mins. We waited for hours in walgreens and nothing came. Then we called and checked the Emergency , she said its on the way. USELESS!!! we went back to our home in different state. Diarrhea and pain started again , checked with nearest walgreens , they contacted the base one and said , doctor has not sent any prescription. When contacted ER again, DOCTOR WENT HOME WITHOUT PRESCRIBING TO PHARMACY. Attendent called her mobile and she said she will prescribe - at the night time when she prescribed electronically, that particular store closed and no others can see since a person manually need to enter that in their system. WAS LIKE HELL FOR HER!! NO TREATMENT !! BUT AM SURE INVOICE WILL BE GENERATED FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS . . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ER .
