Craftsmanship cannot be praised enough! I waited decades to own a beautiful ring. I am very happy with the design and sturdiness of the ring. It did take a few months until the ring was ready but I am a patient person. They did have a machine break ( I cannot remember the name), but unfortunate setbacks happen. I will go back. The jewelry is gorgeous! So many beautiful rings, earrings and necklaces in the shop. The designs are amazingly unique. Thank You.

Just beware that if you drop an item off for an appraisal and are told it will be about a week, DON’T ASK IF IT’S SAFE TO LEAVE IT. It’s apparently rude to do so. Based on my experience, I would never do business with them again, nor recommend them. Customer service includes empathy, adaptability, ability to use positive language, clear communication skills, self control, taking responsibility, and patience.

The woman working there was extremely rude and nasty. I took in a single item to get a verbal appraisal. I had never been in this shop before, so being told it might be a week I simply asked if it would be safe to leave it. She immediately snapped and told me I was rude! Wow, leaving a valuable item made me a bit nervous, but her attitude left a bad taste. That's not the way to treat any customer. She could have reassured me that it would be safe and secure, rather than being belligerent. Obviously I would not recommend this business.

Beautiful store with expert craftsmanship. Superb selection of fine jewelry. This is a regional destination not to be missed if you value fine jewelry. Also, it's a great site for jewelry repairs.

As the public can see by the owner's response, this company clearly does not understand customer service or the concept of standing behind their work. To clarify EXACTLY what I happened, Bay Designs had my 5mm silver bead necklace since FEBRUARY 2023, claiming they "couldn't find" matching 5mm silver beads. As I did state on the phone, it was very inconvenient to be without this necklace for 8 MONTHS as I historically did wear this necklace daily. In addition, stating that they couldn't find matching 5mm sterling beads was a ridiculous thing to say considering I just bought a 5mm sterling necklace on Amazon and it will be delivered in 2 days. When I finally did pick up the necklace in late October 2023, the beads they had been "searching" for did not match the existing necklace, but I was told it was "OK" because they didn't charge me for the beads and they put them at the back of the necklace "where no one will notice". How about me?? I know it's wrong! Also, when I picked up the necklace, it was filthy and had not been polished. I thought that was standard in jewelry repair?? I wore the necklace twice, and when taking it off Thursday night, the necklace did indeed explode! Silver beads everywhere. I did nothing except undo the latch. And yes, not only have several of their repairs broken after a handful of uses, they also incorrectly strung one of my squash blossom necklaces. They did fix it, but it still doesn't lie correctly. So glad the owners responded. I am happy that my experience is now recorded. I do believe this company used to provide quality, but I have lost entire faith. I am not sure what has happened, but would encourage the ownership to embrace some introspection. There are many angry former customers. That's unfortunate .

My first time here at Bay Design and the last time. Its a shame because the work was really nice. I was shocked at the $211.00 charged for two tiny size rings to solder. It's the business, I get that. I was handed a receipt for that amt. on the 24th of June. I was told the rings would be ready after the 17th of July. I called on the 18th and was told they were not ready. The owners wife was very rude and acted if my verbal concerns were not acceptable. I then called later that day and told her not to have her husband do the rings, no problem I would come get. Her husband got on the phone and they just happened to be in the final polish. When I came to get them I brought cash, so they would get the full amount and no credit card fees. We'll now they upped the bill another $24.00 I would have gladly agreed to it but was NEVER told of the tax. My understanding on the receipt was the FULL amt. I gave them all the cash I had and said I would have to charge the balance of $4.00 The wife once again, very rudely, literally threw the $4.00 on the counter and told me to keep it. I was a first time customer and very disappointed at the way I was treated! Her husband kept working and did not even care enough of what was going on. It's obvious they are both very unhappy, unprofessional people. Just because you own a business doesn't mean you know how to run it. Sorry to have bothered you!! Going back to my original jeweler, who does know how to run a business!!

I am extemely disgusted by the service a friend of mine received recently. She had brought in a wedding ring to be resized. It took over twice as long as was promised. When it finally was finished, they didn't even bother giving her a call to let her know it was done. She had to make several calls to keep checking on it. Worse yet, the staff was very rude to her. She is one of the nicest, most diplomatic people I know, and was treated like a piriah. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

Wanted a simple gold ring polish. When I went in to p/u the ring they hadn’t gotten to it yet. When I came back again the ring looked like nothing had been done with it. They obviously were more interested in customers wanting to buy something. HORRIBLE experience. I’ll never go there again.Response to management comments:This absolutely is the correct experience from 2020, I just never posted previously. Since this was the only jewelry store I’ve been to in 20 years it’s easy to remember. Again, I was very unhappy with the quality of work done. Actually it looked like nothing was done at all.

Just terrible, do not buy your rings from here. My now husband ordered my ring with the assurance it would take 5-6weeks to be done. It took over 3 months to get our ring. Once he proposed I woke up the next day to two diamonds missing from my ring. When we took it in to get fixed the designer blamed us for the diamonds falling out saying we didn’t take good care of it and that’s why that happened but he’d still fix it for us. 6 months go by and another diamond falls out. We got our wedding bands from the diamond center and when they showed us our ring under a magnifying glass it was terrible quality. You don’t even need a magnifying glass to see how poorly done this ring is. If you want anything quality made DO NOT GO HERE. I am all for shopping local but this place is just awful quality and costumer service. In response to reply below: I don’t know who you think I am but I am not a bar tender nor have I ever bar tended in my life. Neither did I work construction. I am a full time Physical therapy student sitting at a desk all day typing. I am sorry you can’t own up to your poor work. Your response just demonstrates your poor customer service.

I turned in my ring for a simple center stone replacement to Bay Design. This is a sentimental piece so I was very much looking forward to having it taken care of. I was told that it would take 2 weeks and accepted the timeline. Two weeks later, I received no communication on the status of the order so I called them on Friday. The response was, "We just got the components and it should be ready early next week." I again accepted and at that point was very much looking forward to having my ring back and couldn't wait to see how beautiful it would be. Unfortunately, another week went by without any correspondence. I called again and asked for a follow up. I was told, "We just got the components. It will be ready on Saturday or Monday." I said, "Wait a minute. Didn't you tell me that you 'just received the components' a week ago?" There was no direct response so I just sighed and said, "Okay. Just call me when it's ready." The same day, I thought it through and it was clear that they would not have this finished any time soon so I decided to just pick up my ring as is. I went to the store and asked to cancel the order. The woman was short and snippy. When she went looking for the ring, it was clear that not only had there been no action on the order but it would be awhile before it would be worked on since it took a minute to find. It is a huge letdown that this did not work out. I chose this place because they are A local small business but they just are not trustworthy. Given better communication, honesty and integrity, I could have looked past the missed timeline to wait a bit longer but the whole experience was just a disappointment and a waste of time.

I brought in some pearls that were near and dear to me as my Mom gave them to me as a gift. I took them to Bay Design to be put on a bracelet. When I picked them up they handed me my receipt which was burned and half gone. I said oh my, what happened? She explained Keith's desk has started on fire. I understand accidents happen. I look at my extra pearls and 4 of them were scorched. I had to point it out to them. He tells me he will give me 20.00 for them. He didn't apologize or anything. I told him how sentimental these pearls were to me when I dropped them off and all he can say is here is 20.00 I am not happy how the whole thing was handled. To me the customer service sucked. Didn't offer anything, still had to pay for the bracelet even though he destroyed my extra pearls. This was a terrible experience and unfortunately the fact that they were sentimental to me meant nothing to them.

We had a ton of jewelry and costume jewelry from my mom's estate. They helped us go through it all, resized rings, appraisals for our insurance, cleaned them all, bought items and even made a pearl necklace for our granddaughter out of mom's pearls. I won't go anywhere else. They were awesome!
