As my daughters father, I had to work very hard on my rights in a very difficult, expensive, and contentious 5-year long placement battle. I made a promise to my daughter before she was born that I'd be there for her. I always thought I had a very good rapport with the lady's at YI over the years (and I'm absolutely sure that I did). I was always respectful and tried my best to keep the outer nonsense away from daycare (and any other public places for that matter). On my final placement hearing, I was surprised to hear that I was reported negatively to the Guardian Ad Litem by the owner of YI. What was said was simply not true, and to this day I don't why it was said. In spite of the report from the owner, I was looked on favorably in court and am happy to say that I will soon have a 50/50 placement with my daughter. I tried reaching out to the owner, but received no reason why I was reported the way I was. Instead, she called the GAL and told them I was badgering her and trying to get her to change her opinion and that could have had a serious impact and possibly ruin a little girls ability to have a real life with her father. I just couldn't believe they would say this stuff to the GAL. I wouldn't normally post publicly like this.. but If you are a single father, I hope this information helps you. This is not a reflection on the nice lady's that work at YI. They always were great.
