We called to set an appointment for my Kittens possible Eye infection. We called to set an appointment hopefully within a day or two after. They immediately got us in, and gave us the medicine we needed. On top of that, their staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and honestly a little funny. They make the process easy going, and judgement free. The people here are great, and the service they provide is extraordinary. My family previously brought pets here, and 7 years later. They are still the same awesome Vet Clinic I remember ♥️♥️

Since being purchased by a corporation Hillcrest is not the same clinic. Once upon a time, when Dr. Cole was there, the care for clients and their pets was beyond question. Now nobody there cares at all about the clients that have been there for 15 years. I’ll never go back. I miss Dr. Cole.

I've gone to Hillcrest since I rescued my pup 5 yrs ago. Although my experience here has been good until now, this last visit left a lot to be desired. I'm not one to write a bad review after one bad experience, but in this case it's a bad policy, which will keep repeating itself. The vet pushed the Lepto vaccine which I didn't feel my dog needed due to him absolutely hating all things water, but he persisted. I agreed to it after being told its only $35. Then I'm told he'll need a booster in 3 weeks. Never being told that is another $35. To make matters worse I'm charged another $40 exam charge to give him the second vaccine. So the $35 vaccine I agreed to is now $110. When I complained to the lady at the desk she gave me a condescending, snarky response saying they need to check blood pressure prior to administrating vaccines and that's their policy. Great! So when I ask the price tell me it's $110 not $35 to get me to agree since I was on the fence. After complaining I'm told to call Delilah the manager because the snarky receptionist can't help me. Unfortunately Delilah is too busy I guess. She never called me back. Come on Hillcrest.

Hillcrest and Dr. Barber are the best! They are kind and accommodating. Dr Barber is kind, gentle and takes his time and explains everything, giving options. I would never go anywhere else again (which I have previously, went to another local hospital in town that never got to the root of my cats problem after several visits!).

Very accommodating staff. My dog had snagged her toenail and ripped it almost completely off. My regular vet didn't have appts available for 2 days and she was in a lot of pain. I called Hillcrest and they got me in the very next morning and removed her remaining toenail and made her comfortable and gave me all the meds needed to help her recover. Very impressed and I will be returning with my other pets!

Having a dog with anxiety, going to the vet is stressful for all!
I can’t say enough how kind & professional the staff was!! Jenna worked her magic to just get Boe out of the car, calming him & sitting on the parking lot pavement where Boe could be examined! Dr. Oltman was so patient & caring about Boe’s health,
Taking time to answer all my questions.
Jon’a, the receptionist, Desiree, the lab tech, all had excellent dog & people skills! Thank you all so much!!

I took my 10yo Squish kitty here for concerns and they were great! He got blood work done and everyone was so kind. They sent me home with medications for his tummy. The vet sent me an incredibly informative and understandable follow up email with the rest of the results too and kept answering my questions afterwards via email! Fantastic place overall Squish approved

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience! Took 2 kittens in for spays, did all of my work ahead of time to get a good estimate for the cost. I knew 2 cats would be expensive and I have expressed multiple times that we budget so I need to know costs ahead of time, understanding that the number could go up or down a little. I was quoted eight hundred and something for both cats, and to estimate about fifty bucks or so for additional meds. Okay, no biggie I can work with that. That $800 amount included the pre-bloodwork needed, so I paid for the bloodwork in full when I brought them in (around $200) and was told that amount would be deducted from that $800 amount which . So doing my work I budgeted what I needed plus a little more in case it came out a little higher. Imagine my surprise when I pick them up from their spay to be told that I owed almost $850!!!! Apparently their team isn't really good at giving estimates. They needed an ear check while they were under, and I specifically asked them how much that test was going to cost and was told $54. Being a reasonable person when you tell me it's going to be $54, it's $54. Nope! They charged me $54 per cat. When they gave me the $50 or so for pain meds estimate, they failed to mention in the estimate 'per cat'! Oh yeah, but they offer a "complimentary nail trim"...so that makes it better for totally misquoting an estimate and charging someone HUNDREDS of dollars above the estimate when they've specifically asked questions about costs so that they can BUDGET!!!So if you're fine with being taken complete advantage of, and then just being told "sorry" when you're freaking out at the checkout trying to figure out how to come up with almost $300 above what you should've been charged, feel free to visit them. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for doing this to people!

I think the staff and doctors at Hillcrest are a great team. We recently discovered one of our cats had kidney disease. Dr. Lystrop was very patient with discussing our kitty's condition and answering my questions. When the time came to say goodbye everyone was compassionate and professional.

We worked with a wonderful, caring veterinarian at this clinic and were very pleased with the staff and their compassion for our dog during a very difficult time of end care and a very early death due to intentional animal abuse by another vet. This clinic treated our dog and our family with competent care, optimism, communication and follow-ups, and sincere compassion and respect.I do, however, strongly encourage you to read the reviews of Lakefield Veterinary Group and watch this clinic for changes in care, cost and staff.I truly hope not to see any changes in the value and care of this facility. The clinic was purchased by Lakefield veterinary group which is not a veterinary group of any kind. Lakefield Group is a soulless group of wealth management dabblers who clearly based their “business” on a hatred of animals and will impose their philosophy and processes at some point. We were referred to a specific veterinarian at this clinic who was wonderful, however, Lakefield Group clinics are dangerous for all animals. Their they killed our dog who was not only the heart and happiness of our family, he was a loved hiking dog by many from all over the country, and he spent half of his years as a caregiver willing me back to the world when I was injured - Lakefield abuses animals and intentionally kills pets for high supplier incentives pushing controversial preventative cares and administering legally questionable medications as well as knowingly deadly vaccines even when severe symptoms to the booster are shown. They also did not disclose the fact that they were giving him a different vaccine from what we thought. They didn't give him the simple vaccine, they gave him the deadly one that includes a variety of things and hasn't worked out on the market so far. I am heartbroken and baffled as to why they replace good staff with hostile, rude people and the veterinarians they do retain or hire become killers.Again, we had a wonderful experience here but I strongly encourage you to read the reviews of Lakefield Veterinary Group and watch this clinic for changes in care, cost and staff.

My brother's barn cat was having issues. We were unable to get her into a vet in River Falls. However, a vet's office recommended Hillcrest and I am glad that it did. When I called and explained the situation, an appointment was made for the earliest time slot -- just a couple days away. The staff and service were fantastic! Everyone was warm and welcoming and made Cowgirl's visit as comfortable as possible. Dr. Lystrup patiently explained our options and gave us her best opinion on how to care for Cowgirl. She was very honest and open in her explanations. I heartily recommend Hillcrest to anyone looking for a vet. I am persuaded to use them for my pet's care.

Always adding in hidden costs. Recommending tests and shots my dog doesn’t need. Even after I say no, continuing to push the subject and dragging the appointment out. They have sent me mail about “unpaid bills”. I quickly figure out those bills don’t exist once I directly call the office to figure it out… it’s always “oops!” with no further explanation. All very weird. I wouldn’t go here! I’d take the extra time going to a vet in Woodbury.
