We had a last minute vet emergency and our vet couldn’t get our pup in. They were able to squeeze us in and continue care. It ended with an enucleation and we couldn’t be happier everything went smooth and our little Stella is back to her amazing little self. Thank you guys!!!

For the past 26 years, I have been taking my pets to Heritage Animal Hospital In Hortonville, WI for all their health care needs. Over the years, some of the Doctors have moved on, but the quality of care has remained first rate. I try to schedule my appointments with Dr. Dan Oberschlake. He has always treated my pets with kindness and compassion as well as keeping me informed about any new treatments available. On occasion he has also provoided some home remedies that I could try in place of drugs like cooked rice and hamburger for an upset or irritated stomach. From end of life issues to helping a new puppy with training, Dr. Oberschlake has been there for me and for them. After the death of my beloved dog Max (age 16) I was having grief issues that would not go away. Dr. Oberschlake to the time to share his own feelings of sadness and loss after his collie Snuffy passed. He also provided a local resource for dealing with pet loss. When we got our youngest Springer Spaniel Cheyenne, it soon became clear that potty training was going to be a problem. She had a real problem holding her urine for any period of time. She was sleeping on my lap once and she actually peed all over me as she slept. I knew something was definitely wrong and got her in to see Dr. Oberschlake that day. He told me that sometimes little female pups have a weak sphincter muscle that makes them unable to hold their urine. He precribed a medicine that tighted up that muscle and her potty problems were solved much to everyone's relief, especially Cheyenne's. I cannot say enough about the good care my pets have received from the staff at Heritage. From the cosmetic surgery on Mattie's nose, to Eli"s broken leg, from frank discussions about euthanasia (always followed by a sympathy card signed by all the staff) to welcoming a new baby to the family, the professionals at Heritage Animal Hospital in Hortonville are up to the task. We are fortunate to have such a valuable pet health resource in our area.
