We’ve been regular clients of Hartford Animal Clinic for the last year. My family has been impressed with their compassion and professionalism- not just from the veterinarians, but also all of the staff. Everyone here is very gentle and patient with our dogs and cats. We regularly see Dr. Larson and she is a fantastic vet who explains things in detail. (After each visit I walk away marveling at how she can retain all that she does in her head. She’s like an encyclopedia!). We’ve also had wonderful experiences with Dr. Schneider who really helped one of our dogs and a cat feel at ease. Highly recommend this clinic.

Our fur baby wasn’t too fond of our last vet. I looked around and remembered I had stopped here for an emergency a while back and liked how our dog was treated. I decided to try it out and see how things went. I was super impressed on how fast they gave us an appointment. This was the BEST DECISION I have made for our fur baby! She loved it!!! As soon as we walked in she was greeted with love. We were also seen right away. I kept watching my dogs body language and how she acted around them. They sat on the floor with her and they gave her so much love!! She was enjoying all of it. Not once did I see her scared or that she was uncomfortable. She even took a nap on the floor and kept looking for them every time they walked out. This is what im looking for in a vet! That my fur baby enjoys her visit and isn’t scared to walk in to get seen!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR MY BABY!!! We have found our new vet clinic!

All staff are very friendly and professional. I have brought pets in for both routine visits and unexpected disasters and have had wonderful experiences and very compassionate care. My questions were welcomed and thoroughly, honestly answered. I felt as though the well-being of my pets and myself were treated with great respect. 100% recommend.

I have been taking my animals to this clinic for years and always had good experience. However, i had to put my 2nd dog down in only a couple of months and i just wanted to share so no one else goes through this. The experience with my 1st dog i had to put down went fine, although i would have preferred they not have so much time with us sitting in that awful room. I just hated prolonging a very hard experience. The 2nd dog, however, went AWFUL! They gave him a sedative, and i had him very peacefully laying on me and he was very calm. The vet finally came in and started to chat with me. I had to finally cut him off and say i just went through this and i did not want to prolong what is a very hard thing to do. He finally got the shots, asked me to lay him on the table, to which i asked why, and cant i just hold him to give a measure of comfort? He said to put him on the table as he had other experience's of dogs biting and moving etc. i layed him on the table, which he was still very calm and i pet him as the tech put the saline in. That went fine but when he started to put the euthanasia shot in, he started yelping and biting at the bandage on his leg. The vet said he needed to get assistance while i tried calming my dog down. He came back in with help and the assistance tried holding my dog down as he again put the shot in and he basically died in pain yelping. What an awful, awful way to die. I asked a vet tech that i knew, if that was normal and was told no not normal but small dogs can sometimes have discomfort. I really dont know what to think with them but i will certainly not be going back to them.
*I read the response from the owner and the receptionist lady did ask me about his rabies vaccine history, which he did have. I asked if she wanted me to get my phone to prove it and she hemmed and hawed a bit but did say it was fine and i didnt need to. I then proceeded to pay and go into the room. Can you please explain what that would have to do with them feeling pain with euthanasia and a sedative?

I had our twins in today for their one-year checkup. Everyone is always so helpful. Linda helped me retrieve the crate from the car; Lindsay, our vet tech was super helpful , and Dr Liz was awesome as always. In addition to her professionalism, you can see her love of animals in how she relates to them. This picture is from shortly after we went to our exam room. I’m not sure if the twins were hiding or making themselves at home.

Excellent care for my companion dog. The staff is truly concerned about the pets and the parents. I lost a dog and left the clinic crying after they let me hold him for a while and say goodbye. Several days later I received a card with the dog's name and paw print. I framed It with a photo of Bosco that hangs on my wall. Only people who care would provide such a gesture.

We recently switched to this vet and they have been extremely nice and knowledgeable. We also had to put our cat down and they were so sweet and thoughtful.
