I hope they treat the animals better than they treat potential pet owners.

They weren’t open at 4pm on a monday… Went to drop off a kitten or at least see what I could do to help it have a fighting chance at surviving but there wasn’t a soul in that building and no one to pick up the phone :/ Got lucky and some kind lady was able to take the kitten in hopes of helping. telling people you need an appointment and come back in 24 hours is a death sentence in many situations. Disappointed I couldn’t do anything to help this kitten, please post your hours and maybe get someone to have a work phone that they can answer from home to be able to inform people and stuff. I get it, you’re a shelter not a vet clinic but it’s not my cat and I found it and wanted to help but couldn’t do that…. couldn’t take him home as i have 3 other cats but it breaks my heart knowing that the kitten might be dead by now because none of the people trying to help it could get any actual help :(

I called trying to find a vet that I could work with to get medical care for the cat colony I inherited. The person I spoke to was neither helpful nor understanding. She proceeded to tell me that I would have to take them to the vet and that it was illegal to get medication outside of from a vet. All this information I already knew and had passed on to her but she was more interested in arguing then trying to work with me. I I'm a big donor to people that work with me. People that argue with me get no money and receive negative reviews.

Lovely receptionist just told me to euthanize a cat I was trying to surrender because “nobody will adopt him anyway if he’s really that bad” without even letting me finish why I need to relinquish him, he needs an outdoor space. He’s destroying everything because I have a 300 sq ft apartment and he’s bored. If you love your pet but can’t take care of them, drive to Green Bay for WI humane society.Edit: The receptionist, Jeanine, called me back to scream at me so I screamed back. And yes I did call her a cow and told her to die after she called me about my google review, to scream at me, then left so many calls and voice messages I needed to block the shelter number.

A top notch shelter w excellent management. Clear & concise communication style is a reflection of their no nonsense dedication to animal welfare.Staff works tirelessly to run a respectable clean shelter that provides the best care for incoming and outgoing animals. They go over every animal with a fine tooth comb and provide educational & training services.I have even seen them automatically checking how tight a collar is or how long nails are and they stop to take care of it on the spot. A shelter that is very well managed w excellent care & compassion for animals. And just a note here-Please folks, NEVER declaw your cat!! Buy a scratch post or ask for expert advice from the shelter because they are also animal behaviorists and can help you with your pets!! And Please love & spoil your animals every day of their short lives! Peace! :-)

I do not recommend this place at all. We thought we found a wonderful place and a wonderful dog that had health certificates, but we were wrong. We took him to the vet one day after adopting him and he was diagnosed with kennel cough and shortly after, once his fecal work was back, giardia. He had managed to lose 10 pounds while at the shelter, but I guess the staff didn't notice the severe weight loss. I made the shelter aware of what was going on and they offered to help pay for cheap medications. You treat giardia by also cleaning your whole environment thoroughly, not just through meds, so this wasn't even going to help cover 10% of the costs. We also have 3 other dogs at home that the shelter is aware of that we now have to treat for kennel cough and giardia thanks to this shelters lack of care and attention. We returned the dog because we felt the shelter should be liable for his care and we had already spent $300 on care in the little time we had him, not including the cost of our other dogs vet bills. The shelter also in their contract states it's up to the shelter manager to refund and they were not even willing to work with us on a partial refund to help cover the costs of our other dogs vet bills that we incurred from adopting a sick dog from them that they backed with a "health certificate".*update to responseWow just wowWe took him to the vet literally the day after getting him and he was coughing the entire time we had him. I trust that my vet performed the fecal test correctly, and since they manually collected we know he was sick. As stated above he was returned because you should be liable for his care if he came to us that sick. I frankly don't care about you offering to pay for their meds. Risking my dogs health, especially with a senior dog in the home, is not something I'm going to do because a shelter didn't properly take care of their dog. He was also on 1.5 cups of food twice a day per our vets recommendation and based on what our largest dog (77 pounds) weighed. If he continued to lose weight as you say I hope you actually took him in to do blood work and see what's going on. It's very sad that you feel the need to respond to all the bad reviews on Google instead of care for your animals properly. I would also be more than happy to post the vet records so everyone can see. Would you? Are the tests that you're doing done by a vet, vet tech or, trained assistant, or are you guys just doing them yourselves to save money and we should trust you that it's being done correctly.

Very helpful owner, informative, took the time to explain personalities of all the cats to us. We wanted a pair or siblings. We narrowed it down to 3 sets, she went into more detail about those 3 sets and we decided on Timon and Pumba(brothers) Now Charlie and Noodles.Clean. Helpful and knew what they were doing. I would recommend this place! Just off the beaten path a bit.

Nasty, rude and demeaning owner. Stay away from this place!! Go to another shelter for your wants and needs! If they treat people this bad, imagine how they treat the animals who can't fight back or have a voice! These poor babies, my heart breaks for them ?

The owner, Jeanine, is incredibly kind and helpful. She has so much knowledge about each of their animals and wants to pair the animals with the perfect new home and adopter - she is a true matchmaker! It is a clean, welcoming environment. I had a wonderful experience working with this humane society!
