At one point, many, many moons ago I really liked Riverside Animal Hospital. Dr. Jake left which was one huge downfall because he was an absolute gem. I went through some very severe medical issues of my own and Riverside was not understanding at all and it was literally like pulling teeth to get a prescription cat food filled! Which I was absolutely appalled by as that should be extremely easy and not to mention, to suddenly change my cats food is not recommended and can cause serious issues but they did not care. The representatives/vet techs— whoever works “the front desk” (they don’t have any name tags or identification on) which I also think is completely unacceptable. It’s June 2024, literally identification especially at a ‘professional’ practice is absolutely necessary and completely uncalled for if not present. Needless to say, all the representatives were so rude to me, all interactions— via phone or in person. One representative was so rude to me on the phone and so demeaning I had a panic attack over the phone between that and the severe medical issues I was going through. It was absolutely horrendous and someone like that should not be in any sort of human or animal relations. Then when I switched vets when they sent over the paperwork to the new vet they put a HUGE (I’m not kidding the font had to have been size 80) of completely inaccurate information and it was just SO unprofessional I was absolutely disgusted when I saw it. This Vet Clinic needs some serious work and extreme interventions regarding customer service because I’m not quite sure they even know what customer service even means. It’s quite sad actually.

Initially brought one of my three dogs to Riverside for a spay + vaccine update. The process was what you would expect -- you make an appointment, the vet calls you a day or two prior to confirm and ask for records; great. Today (2/29), I try to bring my other two dogs that have appointments. No follow up call prior to appointment, at all. No reminder other than a text message, no call whatsoever. Call the morning of (30 minutes prior to appointment since they open at 7:30a and have phones off til then) and relay that we don't have vet records but should still come in. IMMEDIATELY after hearing this, I load my two dogs in the car and leave. Mind you, I know this is a 45 minute drive and would've expected to hear "if you're late we'll have to accommodate when possible". Nope -- none of that, so I show up at 8:15a to be told that "I can drop them off and come back throughout the day to pick them up." So let me get this straight... I have to spend 3 hours driving to pick my dogs up because some lousy receptionist Elizabeth can't do her job properly? If someone is calling 30 minutes prior to an appointment to ask for something that you are told is REQUIRED should be a red flag to say to yourself, "well maybe they're going to be running late too?" But for a 15 minute window to throw their schedule off is complete and utter crap. Learn how to properly communicate so you don't waste peoples' time/money. Beyond today's visit, this vet seems more expensive than the vet I used in Tampa, Florida and there was nothing special about my experience whatsoever. Do not recommend to anyone.

If you are an existing client, you can be seen the same day, but if your dog has a problem and you are not an existing client, they will not look at your animal. You would have to wait 5 to 6 weeks for an appointment. My dog has a open mass on his neck line that is oozing bloody clear fluid. They have openings today, but they would only refer me to a different clinic. Clearly, their care is not based on need but rather on consistent income with present clients.

Everyone at Riverside has been great with us in caring for our dog. We've been visiting them for several years and they've always given us good advice and multiple options to consider. When it came to the end of our dog's life, they were totally professional, courteous, and compassionate.

Great with my skittish, anxiety prone dog. I've had vets sit on the floor with her until she was calm enough to do an exam. They went above and beyond during a dental cleaning, doing extra x-rays to ensure minimal damage without adding extra cost. I haven't had a vet or tech that hasn't been kind and friendly, especially towards my pup. Definitely recommend to anyone in need of a new vet.

Both visits I had with my pup (Otis) were very good.. they were there to listen and answer any concerns or questions I had. (even if I had to ask again just to make sure I understood) just overall very friendly and welcoming!! Dr. Lauren Destiche and Dr. Jennifer Knorr both were amazing!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PRECIOUS DOG HERE!!!! Im assuming you love your pet like I love mine. That you want the very best for him or her. They are part of your family and you love them. Please read this..... I brought my dog here. He had an ear infection and had 100% of his hearing. They prescribed him ear drops and the side effect was complete deafness. Yes.....He's now completely deaf after taking the drops the vet prescribed. In the doctors report. She writes she clanged two metal dog dishes together over his head with no response. Yes.... He's deaf! They tried to assure me that he could get his hearing back.... Maybe.... It's sometimes permanent and sometimes temporary. But he hasn't. They wanted to treat him with something else... some antibiotics. Wow! Are you kidding me? Hell no! Then she suggested that I teach my dog hand signals. I was so angry. They NEVER told me DEAFNESS was a side effect. SERIOUSLY... IF I HAD KNOWN THAT DEAFNESS WAS A SIDE EFFECT I NEVER EVER EVER WOULD HAVE USED THAT ON MY DOG! Come to find out it's not a rare side effect. How can they even prescribe this stuff? I spoke to the owner weeks later and he has no remorse. He thought they took the best course of action. So.... If you love your dog.... Don't go here! The consequences of what they do are not matching what's wrong with your dog. The kicker.... They couldn't understand why I was so mad. Are you kidding me? Come to find out there is a holistic alternative that I wish I would have used on my dog in the first place with no ill effects. My little guy is not the same now that he can't hear. It's awful. He's sad and depressed and he's just not the same. Please please.... If you love your cat or dog.... Go anywhere else but here. They do not have your pets best interest at heart. Always ask what are the side effects of any drug you give your pet. These people certainly will not volunteer it. They suck!

We have gone to Riverside (Hospital)? for over 10 years and unfortunately found out that they are not a “hospital.” As I was told by one of their Vets: "We are not equipped like a hospital and we can't handle your dog". I do want to point out this was not our regular vet, instead the only one available.

We have gone to Riverside (Hospital)? for over 10 years and unfortunately found out that they are not a "hospital." As I was told by one of their Vets: "We are not equipped like a hospital and we can't handle your dog". I do want to point out this was not our regular vet, instead the only one available. When we needed them the most, the Vet was useless. Our dog had 106 temperature and not eaten in 1.5 days. The Vet treated him with IV fluids, aspirated some suspicious fluid off his elbow (no culture) and gave us a prescription, knowing he wasn't eating. No IV antibiotics even though she had access. Our dog was sent home without giving us the indication things were serious. I called the "Vet" the next morning to bring him in again as his condition was deteriorating. Her response, I talked to another Vet, and we are going to give you a different antibiotic. I told her NO, I need to bring him in now! She then recommended BluePearl because they cannot handle our dog. Seriously?!? We rushed to bring our dog to Blue Pearl but it was too late. Our dog had passed in our home. Later, we asked for her to call us so that we can have some answers. What we got was very unprofessional even if it was delivered in a sympathetic voice. We understand practitioners make errors, everyone is human. Our expectation is that she learn from this situation so that nobody ever has to be in this situation, and of course handle it professionally. Needless to say, we have moved on from Riverside.
