They have the friendliest staff in town! We had an incident that required out of the box thinking, and they had the supplies we needed. They worked with us to get the pieces in place securely.

Scott, the manager was very comfortable being disrespectful to my partner and I. As soon as we asked the woman at the front counter about returning a floor model lawn mower that fell apart as soon as it was brought home, we heard a condescending voice from behind a cabinet say “that’s not going to happen”. Scott continued to speak from across the store unit we asked him to please speak with us directly. We were met with nothing but being brushed off and cut off rather than an attempt to resolve the issue.
Scott interrupted my partner repeatedly. He offered no remorse for our inconvenience. He cut her off and would not let her speak more than a few words. He repeated “so you’re saying I’m lying?” rather than listening to what she was saying. Scott was not a part of the sale when she bought the mower and wad unwilling to try to resolve the issue with her.
At one point Scott interrupted her to say “who am I talking to? You or you? Should I stand here or here?” while he laughed in our faces. We spoke calmly and attempted to resolve the situation while he antagonized us. Scott said “no one told you to drive back and forth to New Berlin”.
Scott justified his behavior because he had to drive to a different Ace location for a bolt. He works in a hardware store.
Rebecca, the woman at the front counter told me that Scott is acting this way because it’s inventory day. She said that on inventory days, he communicates more casually because he’s so busy. Her acknowledgement of the disrespect but justifying it was an odd take.
I have a very hard time imagining Scott treating a woman this way in front of her husband.
I read another review from a woman who was laughed at by two male managers at this location. Curious who that could have. All this to say, support other hardware stores such as Neu’s or Bliffert.

This Ace store is on Mequon Rd, close to Pick n Save. I go to it for hardware items as the big box stores don't have as helpful staff members.

What sells me on this store is that if I buy a lawnmower or snowblower from them they service it . Great customer service I highly recommend buying from this store!!

Want to give a HUGE shout out to George, I went in looking for options on a weber gas grill, he spent 20 minutes with me looking up exactly the kind of grill I was looking for ,showed me pictures, was also looking for a garage light, he took me to them, found the one I was looking for. Went home with the model number of the grill. Called the store, George was busy with other customers, he called me back, we ordered the grill over the phone, everything went smooth, he called after it was assembled and he delivered it the same day. Thank you George for all you did, George, your a amazing employee for Ace hardware, Thank you again for all your knowledge and patience with me

We live in the area and have this location service our riding lawn mower every season. They pick it up, service it and bring it back. With that said one of their employees, Terry is such a pleasure to deal with. He is so kind and friendly and really goes out of his way to make sure we were happy with their service. I was just there yesterday to get some propane gas for the grill and he was the guy who came out to help me. Again, sooooo friendly and asked me how the lawnmower was working. I was surprised that he remembered me but he did. I hope the manager of this store sees this review. Terry is a keeper with above par customer service. He deserves some recognition and praise for a job well done!
