I initially opened an account with Glacier Hills Credit Union about five years ago to take out a personal loan. The interest rates were competitive, and the loan process was quick and painless. Eventually, I did all my banking there deposits and checking. Then COVID happens, and like a lot of things, customer no service and attitudes cropped their ugly head. Glacier Hills Credit Union decided that the customers are the problem and are not trustworthy. Case in point, I sell my house, and Glacier Hills would not let me have access to these funds for over 10 business days, where other credit unions and banks are more realistic and release funds quicker . At Glacier Hills, electronic deposits are a foreign concept, and if you dare to physically show up with an endorsed check with your signature and your spouse. You are required to drag your wife down to cash a 40 dollar check per the teller I was dealing with. Fortunately, other banks will deposit the funds without question. Not Glacier Hills, you are shady in their world, and even though I paid off my personal loan, I had no good will or history per this institution.Case in point, I foolishly opened a new personal loan this month. However, the process was under more scrutiny the second time, even though I was never late making a payment. Telling me I was not even good for a lower amount I was asking for. My credit score is over 800!In any case, I voiced my concerns about not allowing me to cash a simple check and how it could be easily deposited electronically with other financial institutions. The only response I got was that Glacier Hills knows better than the customer. well, my New years resolution is to close my accounts by the end of 2024. There are plenty of credit unions who will appreciate my business and not treat me as an inconvenience.FOLLOW UP;Glacier Hills' response below is an example of following rules that suit Glacier Hills. Snarky responses and not addressing good common sense is my point posting this review. I do not expect to be treated like an inconvenience when I simply was cashing a small check from our wedding. But to be accused of not being legit and "to physically witness my wife endorsing a check" was not said by me but the glacier hills teller, The other 300 plus dollar checks the teller cashed was okay, just not that particular check. It's okay, though. No regulation or policies require me to do business with an institution that shows competent to existing customers that are in good standing. again, this check was cashed at Chase Bank with no question or snarky accusations. I like to add I had even a much larger check to deposit, and now it sits in another credit union. oh...they did not require my wife to physically be there either. anyways....

I was pre approved over the phone but then denied when I talked to the loan officer, so I went across the street to the main fond du lac credit union and got approved and was given the loan I wanted, it’s better over there

Applied for a new boat loan and was approved before noon of that day. Very fast process, friendly and very professional I would highly recommend Glacier Hills CU for banking and loan needs.

Horrible credit union. They have zero professionalism or customer service. They manager here is rude on condescending. They make countless mistakes to accounts but then won't take any ownership of it. You get tossed around to multiple people when you have account issues who will all tell you different things. And it's all across the board the associates lead by the example of the poor management team. With how many credit unions there are you can find one way more dependable and customer oriented. Tami Winkler and Dee are some of the worst people to work with, no wonder why there is no customers service in the branches when you have management act the way that they do.

Up until recently I had good experiences with Glacier Hills Credit Union. They recently updated quite a few things, including their credit cards. One credit card they cancelled due to no recent activity. This was a large credit card saved for emergency use only. Well, upon it being canceled.....I lost 5+ years of on time payments, the available credit and the history associated with it. Resulting in a large UNEXPECTED hit to my credit.A second credit card I have that I use strictly for gas & grocery items....I was issued a new card (even though it didn't expire until 2023)....that had a 2003 expiration date. Couldn't even activate it or use the card when I needed to. Was issued a second "new" card. Was able to actually activate that one almost 2 weeks later.Very upset with the recent changes. And calling into GHCU, pretty much told sorry, nothing that they can do. Thanks.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. They went through major technical changes over the holiday weekend and they continue to not take calls of members who cannot login or access their money. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Probably the worst bank I’ve ever banked with. Definitely not not recommended. Staff are always unwelcoming & you will sit on sit on the phone forever.

I've been in there three different times to try to open accounts The staff has always ruined it unfriendly there and not very helpful in my opinion they can close this location and fire them all and it would only be an improvement I guarantee I will never try to go in there again

Walking into the branch feels kind of awkward. Not a very welcoming environment. Tellers aren't very welcoming. Doesn't matter much to me as I don't visit much. But as far as banking wise I haven't had any issues. Like the location and like the interest rates on savings account.
