Very disappointed when I was quoted $80.00 for the work and upon picking up the garment the bill was $155.00. They said they made a mistake. I asked if we could split the difference and all she offered was $20.00 off the $155.00. I will not be using their service again.

I paid $27 to get sew-in straps for my dress
i was told that the cost was $25 and come back within an hour. a bit expensive but it's fine. Gotta make some money right?
When i came to pick up, apperently it was $35??? I said "but i thought you said it was $25" she then mumbled "it took longer than expected and the labor was difficult because of the fabric. but since you said it was $25, it'll be $25" Personally I felt like she tried to gaslight me. However, me and my boyfriend for sure heard $25. But it's whatever, maybe she forgot and was busy.
When i first came into the store, a customer came in to pick up their fancy dress. They offer her a bag for her dress but they didn't do the same for me. The mother (the owner) talked in her native tongue to her daughter (co-owner) and said in ENGLISH, the word "cheap" all while they were talking in their native tongue. (this happened when they first was touching the fabric of my dress) I honestly felt kinda insulted. But it's whatever because maybe they were saying a different word in their native language but it also is the english word for "cheap".
When i finally got the reciept after i paid, apperently they charged me $26 instead of the intial $25. After tax, it was $27 and some cents. I know it is $1 difference but it's about the honesty and trust that counts. It's my fault i didn't triple check after paying but it's whatever. I guess you can consider that $2 as tip.
Giving it 3 star because the time it took was less than an hour but the strap was low quality ribbons. Again, it was my fault because i didnt communicate well and i settled for low quality. I basically paid $30 (rounded up) for low quality straps but it's not their fault. Attached to this review is a picture taken from google to give you the idea what the strap looks like.
So i mean, do what you want with your clothes but i stand firm with my review. I probably will never come back

Phenomenal!!!! I brought a suit in that I thought could never fit. The pants were over 8 inches too big and everything else was huge except the chest area. They had my suit done perfectly in only a week. When I went for pickup I expected an arm a a leg for payment due to how much work needed done. Not at all! The price was a fraction of my expectations! Highly recommended!

Unprofessional and disrespectful.
I would not recommend to any bride. 4 months ago, robes were to be made and picked up. 6 days before the wedding, they are yet to be made. The first dress that was given to the seamstress was changed and the alterations to the new dress were minor and “not a problem”. One month out, the “seamstress” did not have the alterations to the dress done as expected and discussed. 2 weeks from the wedding date, the owner’s wife stated that she thought the wedding date was a few months from that date.
Nothing was written down. The missed expectations continued to be a problem. Even one week out, she was informed by the “seamstress” stated that she would have the alterations done the next day. Came in the next day, the changes still had not been completed. We were informed that was because of the changes that needed to be made. If that were the case, then why would you not mention that to your client? She continued to point out that it was our problem and we continued to cause inconveniences for her. In reality, she does not have a system for operating an effective business. That’s why she has 5 reviews on google pertaining to wedding alterations. That’s why even when she was thrown all of the issues with her service, she made it about how it was our fault and our problem.
Go somewhere else. Go somewhere that knows what they’re doing and will meet your expectation for one of the most important days of your life. Do not leave it in the hands of this business. You will not be happy.

I wrote a review over a year ago for Village Court Alterations and for some reason, it is no longer showing, so I am reposting!Village Court Alternation is a mother/daughter team and they are just an absolute delight. They are kind, smart, and efficient! I needed my wedding dress taken in a size and was unsure the turnaround time. I ended up reaching out through google and got a response immediately! I was able to walk-in, try the dress on and they took it from there. My wedding was in a month and they said they could do it, no problem! They did a phenomenal job and I couldn’t believe how reasonable their fees were! I will absolute come back for any other alteration needs as well as refer my friends/family! Thank you!Picture for reference of the type of dress they worked with!

I have an Air Force parka from 1959 that my father gave me a few years ago. It needed a few buttons and some stitching up, but I had trouble finding anyone that would work on this. I stumbled across Village Court Alterations and spoke with Tatyana. She told me they would go over the entire coat and fix whatever was needed. In less than a week I picked it up. Tatyana's partner (and mother) went through the coat and showed me everything they had done. The work was perfect and the quality amazing. I have something to be wear proudly now and give to my son someday in the future. They were surprisingly affordable, which was the icing on the cake.I would recommend Village Court Alterations without hesitation. In fact, I brought in a few coats that needed zippers and other touch up and the work was as perfect as on the parka. It is nice to find businesses that take as much pride in their work as these two ladies do.
