I recently stayed at Hillside Inn at 11934 WI-42, in Ellison Bay, WI. The Inn provides a great value just outside of Sister Bay. The rooms are.vwey nice and was perfect for my stay in the area. The staff is very nice and helpful if I had any questions. I wish on that the Hugel Restaurant would have been open on my stay. I have heard so much good on it. The rooms have a nice view of the Bay.

Old school charm with modern amenities and a super friendly, helpful staff. Situated in a perfect location in Ellison Bay, with a view to die for. The rooms are spacious, very clean and very comfortable. We will stay here every visit to lovely Door County. Well done Hillside Inn..Well done indeed 👍🏻

Stayed here for the value and location. Staff was kind and very helpful with our check-in. Our room was right by the front desk, so we expected noise but it seemed pretty quiet at night/in the morning. Room itself was a little musty, but had a tv, refrigerator, and back porch. Although we didn’t use the back porch - it was located right off the rear exit from the lobby. Beds were semi comfortable and we had plenty of towels. Had a fine stay overall.

The family who run this hotel are the loveliest people and so kind. The rooms are large. The hotel is a short drive away from Sister Bay and perfect to get to the dark park from. Would highly recommend staying here!!

Nice low priced motel with a view of the Bay. Rooms are serviced only after a5 day stay, unless specifically arranged otherwise. Debbie was dated, but clean and in good shape.
Food and drinks: Attached to an amazing German Restaurant.

Lovely experience staying at Hillside Inn, highly recommend. All the staff were helpful & fun, rooms were clean, nothing fancy an overall good value & vibe.
Not a luxery hotel but a 5 star mom & pop place to stay in Door Co.

Love this place. Clean, quiet, spacious room, very friendly owners and staff, handy location. Really can't say enough nice things about the Hillside Inn. We've already booked a return trip for next year.
Nearby activities: Nice park right across the road with great water/bay views. Walking distance to nearby restaurants and shopping.
Food and drinks: The attached restaurant served great food. German theme menu.

Thank you for accommodating our family for a quick weekend getaway. The memories we created with our children will be cherished forever. The room was clean and brought back fond memories of my childhood family vacations with its carpeting and décor. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs. We appreciated having a refrigerator in our room, as well as access to a microwave, ice machine, and vending machines. The quaint atmosphere added to the overall charm of our stay. We look forward to returning in the future.

We have stayed several times, and as always our room was clean and fresh, as were the entire premises, and the German restaurant was authentic and delicious with a very nice bar.

Made a quick overnight trip to Door County to stargaze at Newport State Park. We wanted to be close to the park and Hillside Inn is a few miles away, making the location super convenient . They were also one of few establishments to allow just a one night stay. I booked directly with them and Rochelle was so helpful and gracious.
Rochelle was full of great information and recommendations when I shared the reason for our trip. Thanks to her we packed items to be better prepared for the evening, including several blankets & bug spray to make our stargazing adventure more comfortable.
The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, our view was of the back green space. It was very quiet. Loved having (great) coffee sitting out on the rear patio.
Overall, I enjoyed the decor, the cleanliness, the sky blue tile color of the bathroom (!) and the quiet.
Thanks for an awesome stay and we will be back!

Nearby activities: Close to Sister Bay, Newport State Park, shopping, coffee, a public beach and park across the road, and Washington Island ferries. Just an unbeatable location.

So this place is a time warp but they do it well and it's really nice and clean. So many places I associate old stuff with grime and yuck. This place just felt so fresh and clean and also old. We got a treasure chest puck for our kid and that was an awesome freebie and unexpected. Staff was so nice and the restaurant that is attached had great food updated menu but feels like a throwback somehow. Loved this stay.

It was like going back in time, in a good way, the place had a great atmosphere and was so clean and kept up, which was something you don’t get with some of the chain hotels.
