When I noticed my beloved 14 year old cat not being his usual cuddly and darling self and barely eating, I knew something was terribly wrong. I took him to Westgate Animal Hospital for an exam and prognosis. As soon as I checked in I started crying and the staff was immediately kind and understanding.
The Doctor performed an exam and gave me thorough diagnostic and treatment options, to which I elected to request a simple blood/kidney screen to confirm that he was ready to leave us. Once the results were in, the Doctor agreed with me that it was time to say goodbye today to end my cat's suffering.
The whole procedure and soft goodbye was gentle, compassionate and handled so gracefully by the staff and Doctor. I truly appreciate the way my wishes were handled and I was given the space to grieve my sweet kitty with dignity. This is something all pet owners eventually go through and I'm glad I chose Westgate Animal Hospital to give my cat a kind and humane crossing over the rainbow bridge. Rest in Peace Benito

Dr. Vollendorf is the best Vet I have known. He cares. He takes his time to be thorough and explain diagnoses and treatment. If you are looking for a new vet, look no further.

We have been taking our 4 month old lab puppy to Westgate Animal Hospital since we have had him and we have been so pleased! Responsive, compassionate and knowledgeable staff — Dr. Vollendorf is wonderful to work with. Recently, we had an urgent care situation and the staff were able to help right away at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Westgate Animal Hospital!

The worst veterinary clinic I have ever experienced. Do not take your pet to them! They miss diagnosed my pet. Was told they are always available for me to bring my dog in, when they miss diagnosed him. Nine months later, unable to get into see the vet for over a week. in their medical notes, they lied about the different options and suggestions that they gave me. Basically told me to take my pet home and love him because he will die soon. That was not true. They could have saved his life but instead chose to tell me there was nothing they could do. Should have run many different tests but chose to have my pet suffer with growing disease instead. Very expensive vet and you will get no results from them. Suggest going to other vet clinics because Dr. Hanson is not qualified. Unbelievable that they still hand write their medical notes and use abbreviations, shorthand, misspellings. Please take my advice and tell everyone that you know to not go to Westgate animal hospital. Front desk staff is not capable of answering questions or helping with your sick pet.

Love it here! They are always so kind and patient with my pets. There were 2 of the techs who helped me carry in/out my 2 pet carriers today since I was by myself. I feel awful I didn't catch their names. However, I definitely appreciated their kindness and their willingness to go above and beyond.
