Tried to force me to make an appointment to get my eyes scanned when all I needed was if frame repair or a new frame for my glasses

I have been going to Sterling for 15 years. I have always been treated in a professional and friendly manner. My prescription has always been accurate. I appreciate knowing that I am seeing a Doctor that has many years of experience.

The doctor was very condescending about my concerns. I was interrogated about why I wanted a print out of my prescription. When I only wanted to order 6 months of contacts the person helping me was super pushy that I should order 12. Overall uncomfortable experience.

Made an appointment and got an email confirmation. Got a babysitter and went in today for my appointment and they said my appointment isn't for a couple of weeks. I showed them the confirmation email I got, and they didn't know what to say, except "Our computer shows it's in a couple weeks". No trying to squeeze me in or accommodate.

Very disappointed in the experience I have had with them. My prescriptions don't work and they wont give me my pupillary measurements. I have been getting the run around all day about this. very upset over this mess.

Friendly and compassionate but I had a terrible exam experience. They use some kind of computer to determine your prescription and the contact prescription I was given wasnt even close to being usable. It was so blurry and created a double visible effect so I couldn't drive at night without being disoriented. I've worn contacts for decades and had never experienced anything like this. I went back in for more exams and eventually the doctor stated my eyes were now too old for contacts because they can no longer compensate for near and far vision. This was totally wrong because I had remaining contacts from my two old prescriptions which were nearly perfect. 2 years later I'm wearing contacts thanks to Pearle Vision. If your prescription seems weird from Sterling optical see someone else.

Went in for routine eye exam and was never given my prescription, I had to go in a separate time to get it. It’s generally a requirement to give patients a copy of their prescription – whether they ask for it or not. Recommend looking at other places if given chance.

TL;DR Doctor refused to adjust my contacts prescriptionWent in for eye exam and prescription for contacts and glasses.I've had contacts since I was in eighth grade (am now middle aged). Sometimes it's not an exact science. You can get an eye exam but your eyes might not be comfortable with full correction, so you might need lenses with .25 diopter less than what the eye exam said. It's super easy to confirm/adjust with contacts, just get a tester and see how it feels. I've got another complication, that I am doing monovision in my contacts (one eye does distance, another close up). As I get older my "close up" prescription changes slightly. I had told the doctor which mono vision prescription had been working fine for me, but he wrote a different one. I thought I'd try it. I got the contacts for the new prescription, and the "up close" worked for looking at my phone, but I had told the doctor I needed it to work for computer work.I told them the close up didn't work for computer work, and needed an adjustment to the prescription. I was told, "You'll just have to sit closer to the computer." (I should mention he hadn't tested me on a computer during the exam, just asked me to guesstimate how far the computer was from my face.)I wasn't asking for another eye exam. Just give me a tester for a a slightly different power. Other eye doctors I've been to were happy to make such tweaks if needed. This one? NOPE.I was told flat out, "The doctor will not be making any adjustments to your prescription." When I asked why, I was told, "Because he was the one who went to ophthalmology school, and he's been a doctor for 30 years. You're welcome to go to another doctor and get a second opinion." Yes they actually said this.I asked to get a refund because I now had a prescription I can't use, but of course was refused ("the service has already been provided").I'd give zero stars but the ladies up front with the frames were very helpful.

Got an eye exam for new contacts, it went well overall but it wasn't a fantastic experience for a brand new customer.

I knew I needed to get my eyes checked but had never had glasses or contacts before. The staff was super friendly and explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable. Dr. was great, maybe could have explained my prescription slightly more considering I was not super familiar with how prescriptions for glasses work, but I got the exam and sufficient information I needed regardless. The staff helped me pick out frames and were very friendly and enthusiastic, made the process a lot easier for me. They also had a special going on so I got $100 off of my frames. Definitely would recommend Sterling Optical!

I had issues with my new glasses and prescription after going here. I was having headaches, eye strain, blurry vision. I had never had headaches or any of that before the new glasses. After a month of coming back every couple of days for adjustments, i had a re-check up where my prescription was upped again and I was told that if I have headaches or blurry vision then I should get checked out by my regular doctor as it's not the glasses. I was told if you don't like my decision and can't see, go to another eye Dr. I was also told your not supposed to be able to see 20/20 out of both of your eyes.

I have been bouncing around from different Opticals in the Chippewa Valley. Sterling Optical is by far the best Optical that I have been to. Dr. Paul is a great Optometrist, he is very knowledgeable and a very down-to-earth guy! He isn't like most doctors that just want to get patients in and out as fast as he can, he takes time to get to know me and my family! The staff here are very great and I love to see the team work that occurs within the office! Great selection of frames on the floor.

The staff at Sterling Optical are all so friendly, and do a great job helping pick out new glasses and lens options. Dr. Paul DeLakis is the best doctor around. Highly recommend to anyone! Brought my mom here for her contacts, glasses, and computer glasses and she cannot stop talking about how much she loves them. Customers for life!
