The store is pretty cluttered. The older lady that works there is slower than molasses. You always have to wait for somebody to come and help you sometimes longer than others. I can run in for 1 thing..... and because you have to wait so long to get checked out....it's almost Always a 15 minute fiasco. Have started driving across town to a self check out store just to avoid the hassle.

Went in on Aug. 4th, 2023 to purchase some items. I grabbed some pickles while there, when getting home to eat them, I discovered a very strong odor as I opened the jug. The pickles were soft and squishy. When looking at the expiration date, it showed 3/03/2023. I immediately got back in my car, brought the pickles back to the store for a refund. Once at the store I told the worker refunding me my money that there were several more jugs of pickles that had the same date on them on the shelf. The worker said and I quote "That's crazy, I've been here 4 months and didn't know we even sold these pickles", and to that I said "you need to face your shelves and take all the expired food off the shelves." I got dirty looks and wasn't talked to the rest of the refund transaction. Today on Aug.24, 2023 I go back there and honestly in shock seen those same pickles on the shelf for sale!!! ??? The store is filthy as well. Not a pleasant experience and they have lost my business.

Came to this DG store on Birch to purchase 4 packs of Scott paper towels. DG had a store promo going on for a few months now where you spend $20 on Scott, Viva, Kleenex or Cottonelle items, you get an instant $4 off. I also had a $3 off $15 exclusive home cleaning coupon as well which applied towards the paper towels. The store manager, (I believe his name was Paul - over 6' tall, bald and wears glasses) was cashier. I purchased 4 packs of paper products and placed on the counter and told him that I have four packs. One pack of Scott paper towel was $5.95. buying 4 packs mean I would be over the spend $20 threshold in order to meet the $4 off instant savings. He questioned why I'm buying so many paper towels. Then, he proceeded to scan only 3 packs. He scanned one barcode on one product 3 times. I heard the scanner beeped 3 times on one product but wasn't too sure either because I trusted that he scanned all items. So my total came out a little too high, I thought that my $3 off $15 digital coupon didn't come off so I paid and left. But when I looked at the receipt, he only scanned 3 packs out of the 4. I didn't get the $4 instant coupon because by scanning just 3 packs, it put me at $17.85, right under the $20 threshold. I didn't know that this store manager on Birch lacked integrity and work eithics towards customers. BE AWARE of this guy, he's cheating customers! I wish I would have listened to my instincts.
