We go to Eagle River every summer and a trip to Walkabout is always on our list.We love shopping at local small businesses when we are at home and on vacation.They have a wide range of great gear and have a very friendly & knowledgeable staff.On our trip this year, I remembered that they sell efoils and called them for a lesson.Their response to my request was almost immediate and very flexible with my schedule.David was a fantastic instructor and had all the gear needed. I have watched other people teaching efoil and they don’t compare to David. The lesson was a total blast!I highly recommend Walkabout!!!

Always fun, unique things to find here. People are very helpful and friendly. A little on the pricey side but high quality things. I check it out every time I'm in Eagle River.

Our favorite destination in Eagle River!We come up to Iron River, MI every summer and always make time to drive down to Walkabout! (We would live to take home one of the beautiful Souris River canoes but it won't fit on the plane.)Wonderful selection of clothing, outdoor gear, kids books, etc.

My brother and I stopped by Walkabout a few days ago and man, what a great crew! We chatted to Hannah for a bit - who was incredibly friendly and personable - and had a quick look around the shop. Their store is neatly organized which I always appreciate in shops like these. Kendra, and Alice are great too: professional and helpful. Good people run this place!

Finest place in Vilas to buy paddling equipment. Extremely well sorted and aesthetically designed storefront. Carry Wilderness Systems along with other top-shelf brands of kayaks, sups, and equipment.Their apparel section is also so tasteful and stylish!Hannah, Alice, Kendra, Dave, et al run a tight ship!
