The grounds feature acres of wild prairies, beautiful trees, trails, and a prairie restoration area, creating a peaceful and scenic environment. The venue hosts hundreds of events annually, such as workshops in blacksmithing, fiber arts, instrument making, and dances. It is also known for festivals celebrating Scandinavian, Cajun, and English country traditions, among others. The site offers versatile spaces like Farwell Hall with a full kitchen and ballrooms, making it suitable for weddings, meetings, or retreats. Visitors and attendees often comment on the beauty, uniqueness, and welcoming atmosphere of the grounds. Events like the Healthy Hoedown showcase lively music, dancing, and friendly people, contributing to the vibrant community feel.
