I purchased a 1968 Coronet R/T that needed a complete restoration. After four years the car was complete and I cannot believe it is the same car as the do exceptional work and are the paragon of restoration shops. They displayed my R/T at the Chicago World of Wheels and it won first place which is a testament to the work they execute. Go elsewhere if you are worried about the expense and get cheap work done on your classic car. The MCR guys do it correctly which takes time and resources and do not cut corners.

I had my Dodge Coronet RT restored by Musclecar restorations and couldnt be happier ! The paint on the car gets compliments everytime i take it out ! There was no pressure on me to do anything, when i saw something they did, it looked so good that i went and had more done. They are a top notch shop in everything they do ! Just remember that if you want nice clean oats you must pay a fair price. However if you want oats that have been thru the horse, that comes a little cheaper !

The build at MCR was a fantastic experience, from the day the car was picked up to the day it was delivered. The entire staff at MCR was extremely helpful throughout the process. I was able to speak directly to any of the tech's in each department to go over different ideas and answer any questions. They are a pool of automotive knowledge second to none.

I purchased a 1970 AAR Cuda with the original numbers matching drive train, but it needed a restoration. I wanted the restoration done by a shop that knew Mopars and had a good reputation, so I selected MCR. My initial meeting with the MCR staff was very collaborative. They wanted to understand what my intentions were with the car after it was completed. I said I was interested in driving the car in autocross events, but with the original suspension geometry and drivetrain. They made numerous suggestions and we agreed on a restoration plan. Even though I live in the northwest, I was very involved during the restoration due in large part to weekly progress pictures posted my MCR and their responsiveness to my many emails. During the restoration, MCR impressed me with their extensive fabrication skills (custom sway bars, custom engine brace, starter heat shield, unibody structural reinforcements, reinforced suspension components) and their high tech diagnostic equipment which allowed them to identify and resolve car operational issues. I got along extremely well with John Balow and Ben Peotter (one of Ben’s hobbies is driving race cars) and since the restoration Ben described additional high tech diagnostic equipment owned by MCR and recommended that I purchase some to help me resolve a vibration issue. The entire staff was easy to work with and accommodated any request for last minute changes or rework.

Very nice people! They called back within a day after submitting a question on their website. They followed up the next day with the info I needed.

I went in to have some minor paint work done and clear bra applied. I was told that no estimates were ever given or even ball park estimates. After that, I started by having work done to 2 removeable panels. I was told that work was needed on both sides of the panels. That seemed fair but restoring the panels cost well into the 4 figures. That did not include any metal work. During this time, I had questions about the budget that were never entirely answered. Unfortunately, I agreed to have a few pieces of clear bra applied to the car. (front of hood, some of front bumper and top of worked panels) The total work cost nearly 5 figures. I could not pick up the car as they aren't open on weekends and I live out of state. When I did see the car, there was an obvious flaw on one of the panels and grit underneath one of the clear bra pieces. To me, the work should have cost less by using new panels but was told that was impossible due to the rarity of the vehicle. I found new panels online. I believe the cost of the panels and paint would have been less than the cost of fixing my old ones. Would not go back.

Brought in a car to address a few minor paint corrections and application of clear bra. After being educated that they did the work and you gave them money until they stopped, I started with bubbling on 2 removeable pieces of body work. I was told that there were problems with the paint on both sides of the panels. That sounded fair. This cost well into the 4 figures. This was just for sanding, filler and and paint. No metal work. For that amount of money I believe it would have been cheaper to just take the time to find new panels and paint them. They told me this was not possible as of the rarity of the car but after a week I was able to find NOS panels. Their cost plus paint I can't believe would have cost as much as the work they charged. While all this went on, there were multiple questions about the charges that were sent to me. None of the questions were truly answered to my satisfaction. After this, I stupidly agreed to add some clear bra to the front bumper, hood and panels that were worked on. I could not pick up the car when it was done as they are not open on the weekends and I live out of state. When I did finally see the car, the color match was very good but there was a very obvious flaw in one of the panels and there were flaws with the clear bra. This work cost nearly 5 figures. After dealing with the run around with the charges I didn't want to try to get these issues corrected. I will seek another shop to address them.

Needed to upgrade my 70 charger with a power and drivetrain upgrade. sound system done by sound & logic.also! ,Stereo sounds. Great. Just be sure car is test driven on highway and street to get all the bugs / running issues. Sorted Out. Before u take delivery of your restored( vehicle!!!!!!!!!! There will. Be issues with any restored. Car. ! So make sure. U ck. upon driving car, almost 2 yrs after getting car back from MCR, There was many issues with car, from not starting, to dash & engine wires malfunctioning, to safety issues with a damaged yoke bolt not installed properly in rear end, so my lesson, never get your car restored where u can't actually. Visit, at least once a month, & I just wished. MCR quality control could have done more to check the install of parts putting the charger back together, I was stuck, more than 8 times on the road & I know its a old car but I paid to upgrade it so. It shouldn't have come to that so many times? Gerard

John Balow (the owner) used to be a Xerox salesman and, as a salesman, he understands that it's important to satisfy the customer. He has a long history of restoring cars to an extremely high quality standard. These are the primary reasons I picked Muscle Car Restorations (MCR) to restore our Chrysler muscle car. We had very specific requirements for the restoration of the car, with numerous suspension upgrades and structural reinforcements which we asked MCR to incorporate. MCR incorporated everything we asked for, with an extremely high level of quality. We noticed some turnover in the staff at MCR, but the employees in the highly skilled positions (fabrication, paint, final assembly, parts) have been there the entire time our car has been in the shop, and the pictures on the MCR website of previous car restorations show these highly skilled employees have been there for many years. John requires his staff to build the cars per the Chrysler manuals . Our car will be driven competitively, so proper assembly is of the utmost importance. The project did go over budget (don't they always?), and it's not done yet, but we are very happy with the workmanship and results so far!

Fantastic workmanship. Better quality than I imagined. Super friendly and helpful to work with. They really did build my dream car. Quality does cost...much more than I expected. I would recommend that you work out a solid budget before starting your project with MCR. If you do that, I am confident you will be very pleased with your vehicle.
