My 11 year old wants to get started with model trains, so we stopped in to get some information and take a look at what’s available. Absolutely loved this shop, and the young man who helped us was so friendly and knowledgeable, taking time to answer lots of questions from my son. Even though it’s about an hours drive from our house, will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Mr. Sommerfeld is very knowledgeable. I bought a used train set, so he tested the engine for me. When it sounded like it was grinding a gear, he swapped the engine out for no extra charge. Highly recommended for model railroading needs.

This is the best train shop in the State of Wisconsin. The store is neat well stocked and the staff is top notch going above and beyond every time I have had the pleasure of visiting. Unlike other train stores that look like crowded attics or basement this store is clearly above the competition. This is the only train store I will patronize. You will not be disappointed.

Just stopped in to get my brother a Christmas gift and I had a great time. Jack was incredibly helpful with all of my questions, he took time to make sure we found everything we were looking for as always. Great selection, good prices. Will stop again.

Matt at Sommerfeld's Trains responded to my online inquiry about a Lionel product project -- to add wireless control and sounds to an older Lionel conventional locomotive (8004 "General" RI&P steam loco). He offered several ways to do it, and we ultimately decided to acquire a new PRR "General" locomotive with LionChief and Bluetooth technology on board -- then swap the PRR body and tender shells for the "old" RI&P body and tender shells.Presto Chango! I now have a RI&P 1880s-style loco that bears my favorite road name with modern technology inside - done at a reasonable price for the "brain transplant."
