About Salmo Pond County Park

Salmo Pond County Park is a lovely fishing spot suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers. The pond is shallow and filled with panfish like bluegill and pumpkin seed, as well as bass and northern pike. Visitors can enjoy fishing from several piers and spots along the pond, with additional fishing opportunities available in Black Earth Creek, which also offers good trout fishing. The park features an active stream where fly fishing is popular. It has parking, a bathroom, and a public park grill, making it a convenient place for a day out. The park is also nice for walking, with a loop around the area and views of the Black Earth Creek and the surrounding green hills. Wildlife and wetlands add to the peaceful atmosphere, and there is a fun rope swing on the right side. Though it can get busy on weekends, weekdays tend to be quieter, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy nature.
