We have been here 3 times with our kiddos, and I feel like there is something new my son wants to play with each time. First it was the farm section, the time after it was the vet clinic and the trains, and this last time, we spent mostly fishing and shopping! He loves the Children's museum. My daughter (1.5), whom has low muscle tone is also able to participate in a variety of activities. The farm is her favorite, but it truly does have so much for a variety of kiddos, no matter where they are on their movement/play abilities.

Nice museum geared for children up through preschool age I'd say. It's nicely divided into smaller areas, farm, store/restaurant, pet vet, cave, stars, train, art, explore science, fishing, music, climbing wall, camping. Climbing structure in middle is nicely done and very nature inspired. 1 area is designated for under 18 months which is nice. The small rooms keep it from being overwhelming, helps kids focus on the exploration there.

So much fun for kids! Lots to do and just one level unlike Madison so your kiddos can run around much more freely. Great time!

Wonderful little Children’s museum! My 4yo loves it. His preschool chooses to do do a field trip here each year as well. Glad the piano got fixed! ? Thanks for all you do for families who are able to come from several surrounding communities! Great birthday party room to reserve if desired.

Such a fun and perfect size children's museum. After hearing nothing but positive things, I finally took my little guy this past week! He loved going from room to room and playing with different toys! They have so many different areas to play and learn in! They have a vet area, train table, wetlands area, little fishing pond, farm area, kitchen, and a small climbing area! Some much fun information to read on the wall and perfect for kids, the only down fall, is some areas could use some lower button, switches, etc. Also the big slide was hard for toddlers to access (especially if assistance is needed) due to a rope bridge that parents can't assist kiddos with getting over! Overall we loved it and will definitely be back!!!!

There's a lot of experiences jam-packed into a relatively small space. Our kids, ages four and eighteen months, enjoyed exploring. The entire experience would have been made better if the museum had a little bit more space to spread out, or maybe take out a couple features to allow for a bit more continuity between displays. You can tell the whole thing was put together by people dedicated to helping kids learn and grow. The price seemed fair.

Great time for kids, especially for the price. Tons of different areas and activities. Wasn’t too crowded and everyone wore their masks! They do have a new area opening soon so we will definitely be back. Fun for really young infants, to older children!

Visited on a rainy summer Saturday and it was busy as expected. My 5 &2 yr old kids enjoyed the engaging exhibits for about 90 minutes. Wonderful details and beautifully crafted.Feels like a good value for $6 each. But as others noted a bit more space in each exhibit would be great. Overall the space was clean and staff was welcoming- we will be back!

This is the first Children's museum that I have been to, so note that my review is without comparison. I wasn't sure what to expect, given that Black Earth is a small town, but I was blown away! What a cool little space, only 15 minutes west of Middleton, WI. There is plenty for kids to do from ages 1-10 years. The museum is divided into small activity rooms with different themes. There is a cave, night sky room, food market and kitchen, farm/tractor theme and rock wall with balance stones to name a few. It appears that they are currently working on building a veterinary clinic too. The main space had a large climbing/play structure as well as a music stage and my absolute favorite, flying squirrel exhibit with a suction tube to make the brown scarf "squirrels" fly off the tree! There is also 0-18 month old room for the littles and a cool art space. The upstairs was closed, but from what I could see it looks like there is a toy library (what a great idea)! Admission is $6 per person, and memberships are also available. Free street parking is available as well. We ended up spending and hour and a half and only left because it was getting close to nap time. Such a fun way to spend the morning. If you have a child, I highly recommend checking it out!

My 8 and 3 year old LOVED IT! We spent 2 hours here and they were entertained the whole time. There are plenty things for little ones a older kids to keep them busy. The place is very clean and we felt safe during the COVID era. The price point is reasonable. It's a quick drive from the west side of Madison. I highly recommend taking a trip there. Very fun day.

This is a clean, quaint children's museum. It's a great size for babies and young children. My daughter (10 Months) and niece and nephew (2 and 3 years) all had a great time.

Lots of brain stimulating activities for the smaller building size of other children's museums in this part of Wisconsin. I would say this is probably the best out of them all. Everything feels safe for children and it's not as stressful as some of the other places. There is even a soft play area for babies that we noticed when taking our eleven month old. The constellation room is really neat for children that have never had a chance to see a planetarium. If you are stopping through Black Earth, do yourself a favor and take the kiddos here, they will sleep the rest of the drive.

My 3 kids age 7,6,4 and I all had a wonderful time at the Black Earth Children’s Museum over winter break! Great membership price, as well as a great local business. The kids kept entertained and did not want to leave and I felt safer not having to keep my eye on each one of them every single minute. It’s smaller but it’s worth the trip out to Black Earth!Recommend.

This is such a neat addition to this small town! They have fantastic displays! Lots of neat projects and things to play with! My kids are 9 and 7 and they found went to keep them busy. This is a true gem! The bathrooms we're a bit dirty, but when you have that many littles in a small place..what do you expect? ?
