We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night and it was delightful. Great service, eclectic setting, incredible food. Well worth a visit, even if you're not staying there (we weren't). Bonus points for going above and beyond by making simple dishes for our 8-month-old.

Wow - the most beautiful and elegant B&B we have ever stayed at. World class, delicious breakfasts. The most professional, friendly staff. Beautiful, high quality, spacious rooms. Great views of the bay. We'll be back!

The food is absolutely outstanding and plated beautifully. Extremely creative with care taken to include seasonal and local fare. The ambiance breathes history and keeping the story of the house alive. The worst part of the evening is choosing what to eat. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful
Rooms: Wonderful surprise, thinking we might be stuck in a third story stuffy room. But these people have a lot more class than that. The room was nice and cool with piped in adjustable air conditioning. And the view of the lake is awesome. And the horn of the fairy about every half hour was welcoming.
Walkability: Everything is within walking distance in this cute little town
Food and drinks: Exceptional all over
Noteworthy details: Everything was worth the added exercise that you may get climbing three flights of stairs

Didn't stay here but the restaurant was wonderful!
Food and drinks: An improved menu and very nice drink menu make the Rittenhouse a must if you are in Bayfield

My fiancé and I wanted to elope. We found that the Old Rittenhouse Inn offers an elopement package. After speaking with Julie, their event planner, we headed north to Bayfield. It couldn’t have been easier, and the marriage started on a much more special moment. Julie arranged everything. She would have excelled at any level of event, quick and private to as grand as I might imagine. She put us in touch with an officiant, a florist who created a gorgeous bouquet and boutonnière, arranged the location, time, witnesses, and a nice follow-on dinner at the Inn. Champagne, cookies, and chocolates greeted our arrival. We finalized a few details, and relaxed until the scheduled ceremony. The grounds are beautiful, the officiant Kevin was warm, enthusiastic, and attentive. We’re both very pleased with the attention and kindness shown by everyone, and so happy that we chose this instead of an afternoon at the courthouse.

I had dinner their with my wife last night. The food was amazing, I had the ribeye, medium rare to perfection, it was so flavorful. My wife has a salad and some wine, she said it was the best salad shes ever had. The waitress was gorgeous and very knowledgeable about the menue and options. The atmosphere was fantastic as well.

This is an absolutely fabulous bed and breakfast. It is a picture-perfect inn located perfectly within Bayfield. We stayed in room #2, which was much larger than I expected and very bright and sunny. The bathroom area - while tiny - was private, and the mattress and bedding - while not as comfortable as a five-star resort - was totally comfortable and acceptable.
Our experience really shined when it came to the breakfast. The restaurant on the main level was incredibly charming, the service was top-notch, and I was so impressed by the menu offerings. Very robust and so good. Really terrific experience.
Other highlights include the staff (top notch and super friendly) and the wrap-around porch - so picturesque! We would readily return to the Old Rittenhouse Inn!

The place to stay in Bayfield for a memorable visit. We love the Chateau Boutin ( we’ve stayed in both the Tower room and Master Suite), their sister property. It is a nice walk over to the Old Rittenhouse to enjoy their lovely breakfast ( or you can drive.) We have stayed here on visits to Bayfield over many years and it never disappoints!

A wonderful Bed and Breakfast in a cute little town by Lake Superior. The food was amazing! Kudos to the chef! I also loved the front porch swing. The only suggestion I would have would be to update the pillows and potentially beds. Overall a great experience!
