They make you pay to park in their lot. Watersides and pools were overcrowded

Great wolf is a bargain Waterpark especially if you book via Groupon. We always enjoy our time here. The value is good but this water park is not top tier. It's fun, but kalahari or wilderness are better. That said, this is much cheaper than either of those. We have been to various GWL resorts and will continue to come. There's fun for all ages. Life jackets and towels are provided. Tables can be hard to come by during busy times. This location has an adult only hot tub and an all ages hot tub. Magi quest is attached to the building.

Waterpark is large and a lot to do. Don't love being up-sold constantly though, after already paying a ton for the room. Charging $16 for parking is also criminal. Appreciated that the waterpark staff and lifeguards were safe but also used common sense. For example, letting me stay in to catch my kid at the bottom of a water slide. Some places can be obnoxious with rule following and blowing whistles/yelling at people.

We took den suite for 3 nights, floor is sticky, when i requested for cleaning they came and moped , it was more sticky after that, also they charged $60 for towels in the water park we used even though we returned all the towels.we will never go back here again. They will suck you money like blood suckers!!

The resort is a little old, and the rooms could use a renovation. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. The Waterpark provided plenty of options for the kids.
Rooms: See my previous comments.

The bad-
Broken fridge, no knob for temp and wouldn't get cold-called desk, someone tried to repair it, two hours later still warm and had to contact desk again before our food spoiled
Tub kept draining, stopper did not work at all
Hair all over tub and knobs, knobs didn't work right, hot water didn't get hot
Bad view-right into air conditioning units, no way to have open windows without a lock on main floor, felt unsafe. For cost of the suite we expected better
Overly scented room spray
Loud- stomping around us literally sounded like someone was going to crash through the ceiling- needs more sound proofing
Very dated
Dried blood (?) on sheet and huge stain on mattress
Food overpriced- kids meals cake with like 10 fries
Wristbands didn't with well, kept locking is out
Parking expensive and not worth it
The good-
Most of the water park staff were friendly, personable and the lifeguards were very attentive

We stayed as a group of 6 adults and 2 kids in the condo which was a nice set up for a larger group. The beds were comfortable and room seemed clean with good sleeping arrangements and options for a group.
For the rooms I would say the biggest cons were that the lodging building was very dated and things did not seem to be maintained well (showers were slow to drain, microwave didn’t fully work, not a lot of kitchen utensils or serving bowls, generally pretty worn down)
The Waterpark and lodge offered fun activities for kids and we liked the easy grab and go Buckets restaurant and bar in the pool area. I think the water park could use some general maintenance but the lifeguards were very attentive which is a huge plus.
This location is great with lots to do extremely close by. It seems like they need to do some maintenance on the day we checked out the beer taps were all broken, the clock tower show seemed to be not fully functioning and elevators were extremely dirty and full! Also was very annoyed that they charged for parking when that was never stated.
Nearby activities: Buffalo Phil’s a very fun and family friendly restaurant is in walking distance. Also walking distance to Knuckleheads which has tons to do for children (go karts, arcade, bowling, trampolines and more!)

We have been staying with extended family here for yearly probably 15 years. Overall it’s a good stay. The rooms and waterpark are dated, but functional. However, this year they added a charge to park your car. $15 per car per night. We spent a significant amount of money renting 4 full size condos for roughly 40 people. Kind of ridiculous to add a pretty steep parking fee. They have plenty of space, the rooms should just come with a parking pass. We will likely now stay elsewhere.

The water park was mostly broken, with all but 2 slides being available. Then we got back to our hotel late, and we were locked out of our own room due to the garbage wrist bands that are supposed to serve as our room keys. I highly recommend spending a little extra money and going to a hotel/water park down the road. Very disappointing.

The kids enjoyed the water park and magic quest. The food was over priced but good enough. The arcade was frustrating as the prices to play make it impossible to use the credits.
My big frustration was with some trashy guests. Our hallway reeked of marijuana. Some people at the pool moved around chairs in a way that it was no longer safe to move around the water park. Security seemed non-existent leaving people to do whatever they want.

My family has been to Great Wolf Lodge for the past 3 years more than 10 times. Always had a great time and appreciated the value we received. This last visit, we were charged $15.00 per vehicle for parking. Never paid anything before for parking. Employees stated they did not agree with it, but could not help it. Parking lot was half full the whole time. Seems like corporate greed is effecting the operations. Might not be back….

I have taken my family here every year for the past 4 years and it's a nice trip for everyone. They have 3 different sections of the water park, a food area, a bar, and an adult only hot tub area. Everything is centered and easy to get to. The lobby in the middle has a store where you can buy rock mining bags, and there is a coffee and ice cream shop as well as a restaurant. They have dip and dots too as well as an over priced arcade. We wish this location had more like the Gurnee, Illinois location with the bowling lanes and high tops course.

Let's start with the positives. The indoor water park alone is excellent; like nothing I've ever seen. Granted, I've not been to many water parks, but being inside is pretty incredible.
There are many, many water attractions for all ages. Both my thirteen year old and four year old were well accommodated. The wait times were usually minimal, which was nice. The small-child areas were isolated enough to put parents at-ease, plus the park provided life jackets and there were many lifeguards on duty. The large slides are thrilling if not borderline terrifying.
We stayed in a two bedroom condo and it was decently equipped with amenities for a condo. I've stayed in worse, but typically stay in better. The gas fireplace was definitely nice.
Finally, they provided a concierge service that I could text to get all my questions answered. We had an issue with the safe and they fixed it very quickly. "Concierge" is probably a generous term to use (nowhere near what you'd get from a 5 star hotel), but it was helpful.
Now to the negatives. For me they are particularly negative, but others may find them mild and perhaps even somewhat appealing. First, overall the facility appears tired and in need of refreshing. This touches virtually everything, including rooms, public interiors, and the water park. Expect to see rubbed surfaces, worn out fabrics, and faded/flaked pait. Now, one could argue that this complements the rustic lodge vibe. If an old, well-lived-in cabin in the deep woods is your jam and what you're after then Great Wolf Lodge checks that box.
Second, our room was not as clean as I would expect for the price. The carpet had stains and overall just didn't feel clean. We found trash on the floor under a table and between the floor and bed. To be clear, we didn't go looking for it; just came across it during the normal course of usage. There's likely more to be found if we put actual effort into hunting for it.
Third, the check-in process was lacking. While I appreciated the sentiment to prioritize expediency, on the flip side I felt uncared-for. I was a bit lost. It didn't help that I couldn't understand the attendant's foreign accent (she was quite personable; I just couldn't understand her). Furthermore, the place is massive and the map to find our room didn't even have the condominium section on it. We also had trouble with our wristbands not opening our room door, so that set us back a bit. There's just something special about arriving at your accommodations and you're made to feel like a VIP guest whose arrival was eagerly anticipated - not so at Great Wolf Lodge.
Fourth - and this one is difficult to articulate - it doesn't seem like a great value overall. It feels like their business model prioritizes profit margins first over guest experience. For all the nice activities they provide for kids and conveniences for families, you can see cost-cutting and revenue generating measures everywhere. Again, the service and experience is adequate, but it just feels like it all takes a backseat to margins. Probably the biggest example that really irked me is that they charged for parking - no mention of this for the particular location when we booked it. It just felt like a sneaky and unscrupulous means to generate revenue. Although this in itself is unusual for a hotel, I can see some justification if real estate cost/availability really limits available parking. However, that was certainly not the case at the Wisconsin Dells location since nearly half the lot was empty at the condominium.
In summary, I could recommend Great Wolf Lodge for a family to visit for a couple of days simply on the merits of the water park. However, their expectations for the rooms and services would need to be properly managed.
