I have mixed reviews. The women who checked me out was very short, and not friendly as I asked questions. I rent all the time for work, and honestly was put back some.When I returned it there was a trainee, and the guy training and the person training were both very nice. The reason for the higher rating.

Do not rent from Hertz, they will report the car missing to police in order to save time and money, and you will be arrested, fined, and caged.

This location is permanently closed. They closed without telling their employees or honoring previously reserved vehicles. Last I checked you could still rent online from this location. Don’t. You won’t get a car.

I was referred to Hertz by my insurance after my car was unfortunately totaled. After having the vehicle for almost a month I was informed of how much I would be paying when I returned the vehicle. 3 days after returning the vehicle I was charged almost $700 after being told it would be closer to $500. Not only was the amount different but they charged me a $200 cleaning fee. After multiple attempts to reach someone regarding the difference we are going on almost a month with no call back. Would not recommend nor will I ever use Hertz again. So unhappy with how EVERYTHING was handled.

I had no issues with the actual pickup of the rental or the car itself. Service was professional and friendly. However, things in time of Corona call for flexibility and understanding. This is where the manager of the Appleton site failed miserably: I arrived to pick up the car one day later than planned, and therefore had to extend the rental one day. As I was not able to get a flight out of Appleton, I had my travel agency work out a drop-off in Eau Claire. When I dropped off the car in Eau Claire at 05:15am there was no person at the desk, and I dropped the keys and paperwork into the Hertz key drop box - as is customary. After not receiving a receipt within a few days, I called the Appleton Hertz site. I was informed then that the Eau Claire site is "permanently closed", and that someone from the La Crosse site checks for keys in the drop box once a month! Long story short: I was being charged for 10 days, but had the car for only 5 days. The manager in Appleton did not offer any compromise or apology. I had to pay nearly $2000 for a mid-size car for 5 days. This reflects poorly on Hertz!

Heather was amazing. I had an accident and my insurance company arranged for a rental car for me. She was patient and extremely helpful. I highly recommend going to Heather at Hertz.

This is the worst company I have ever rented a vehicle from. I had a 30 day rental; from day one was a terrible experience. I went to close out and re-rent the same car. I was advised I couldn't, no problem, the guy behind the counter refused to go check the fuel and mileage. I went back outside, took a picture, went back to the counter, and provided the guy with the mileage and showed him the gas needle reflected fully. I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for a compact vehicle, again no problem. The car had damages I had to go back inside before pulling off and waited in line again. I billed out for over a grand $1047. I receive an email the next day, reflecting a $30 increase for gas. HELLO, what the heck. I called, and a rude lady stated I don't know where you drove to or from. She began to elevate her tone, and I was like no, no, we will not be doing that today in a soft tone. I asked her to pull the video she stated they don't have those capabilities, I went to the booth right next to Hertz (AVIS :) ), now this was excellent customer service experience. The lady greeted me with a smile, a friendly tone, and didn't have any issues explaining my billing. The people at Hertz did an up crease the next day on my bill. I contacted my credit card company and agreed to honor $1047, not the $1074 the next day, when Hertz rep did an audit. The people at this location are rude rude rude rude rude. I guess they forgot the competitors is right next door. I will refer anyone that needs a rental to AVIS, professional, excellent customer service. Now I am going to post to AVIS and provide AVIS with five stars, and I wish I could have given AVIS 10 stars instead. Hertz does not get any starts, and you can't contact customer service because this location is independently own is what I was advised. Watch your bill with Hertz, if they say they will charge you for a compact check your billing if the code is not a B you are being charged a higher rate, Have the person at the counter go outside and get the mileage and check the gas and you must go with them. Video them, if it's legal, this has been a horrible experience. I very disrespected, but I kept a smile, soft tone, and didn't allow the person behind the counter to allow me to come out of character. I will never rent from Hertz again, not worth the frustration, aggravation, and being humiliated.

Absolutely fabulous Hertz location with wonderful service and nice vehicles. It was a relief to finally rent a car where I felt taken care of with no stress or pressure as I'm walking to the car to upgrade. I used to travel almost weekly for work and this was the best experience I've ever had!
