I should have read the reviews before going. I called the hospital because it was my first time going since my vet did not have any opennings today and my dog is extremely sick. They told me to schedule a time so they can be prepared. We scheduled for 2:30PM. I got there at 2:15PM and checked in and everything. They took vitals of my dog and that was pretty quick.
We were in the exam room by 2:30PM. I talked with the nurse and gave the story of why my dog was sick. She said said that the exam was 180$ and the x-ray was 300$. I was okay with it because my dog was super sick. It is now 4:30PM and no doctor or nurse has come in.
At 3:15PM I went to the receptionist and told them that we've waited for almost and hour and for them to see if a doctor is coming in to see us. They said that they will follow up. 4PM I went again to the receptionist and they told us that we were second on the list.
By 4:30PM I went back to the receptionist and they told me that they work in a tier schedule where if our dog is stable then they are going to take other dogs who are in a more severe state.
I understand their process but c'mon! Its been 2 hours. They've provided no communication. I'm literally sitting in the exam room in silence. We waited so long, they said that they had doctor switch shift.
I am never going back. At 4:30PM my dog and I got up and left home. My dog is still sick and we are going to the vet first thing in the morning. BluePearl please do better. 2 Hour in the exam room with no communication about what is happening is unexecptable. If im paying almost $500 just for exam and x-ray, at least have some sort of communication.
I would not recommend this business.

Only 2 24 hour vets in green bay and Appleton, called the green bay location and they are open until midnight and at 830pm couldn't take my cat, with a possible broken leg because they are at capacity, was told to call the 24 hour location in Appleton and at 845pm was told they were at capacity for the night and my cat with a possible broken leg will have to just suffer, unless he's dying. I'm not asking for immediate care, just the ability to go to your office and wait my turn, I'd sit there all night with him to get help. But no. Just stay home and suffer. Why call yourself a 24 hour vet, why offer emergency services if you won't accept emergencies. Why not take my number and when capacity lessens call me and I'll drive there. Now me, my 3 kids and my cat are home crying, scared and without help. Your 24 hour availability should come with a HUGE DISCLAIMER that unless your animal is dying just sit at home and deal with it.

I am giving a one star review because of the lack of communication. I live 45+ minutes away, our vet referred us here because our dog had a stick lodged in her cheek. We called Blue Pearl, and set a time for us to get there and be seen. We got there at our scheduled time of 615pm, first 15 minutes went great. They got us into an exam room right away, one of their vets came and got my dog’s vitals, and told me someone else would come in to get her history. Three hours later, there has been no one to come and talk to us, so I politely went to the front desk and asked for an update on time. I was told they would go check and let me know. An hour later, still nothing. My wife calls in and whoever she talks to at the front desk assures her that we are second in line and we should be in soon. Another hour goes by, still nothing. I go to the front desk again and I am now told that they don’t know when my dog will be going in as they still don’t have her history and they don’t know which doctor will take it. Since I knew surgery and recovery were going to be a couple of hours at least, I took off. I had been there patiently for five hours with no communication unless I sought out the information; and I had to be up for work in less than 6 hours and still had to get home. I get that this place is an ER, and that there are some things more severe than a stick in the cheek, but even a little communication would have gone a long way.

Based on the other poor reviews, the staff will respond to this comment to placate future potential clients, but I write my review as a warning to those future clients- I wouldn't recommend this clinic to my worst enemy.
Our 4 year old dog started the day with vomiting that got increasingly worse. We called our regular vet who couldn't schedule him for a visit until the next day so they recommended going to the closest emergency vet in Appleton- BluePearl. We called them and they told us to come at 6pm. We arrived at 5:45pm and we were seen promptly. They took our dog to the back, came out a few minutes later and asked for permission to take xrays, to which we agreed. For 6 hours we didn't see or hear from any staff members, so I finally asked the front desk staff for an approximate wait time. Their verbatim response was "we're waiting on blood test results." At hour 7 I asked again for an update and they told me they had just gotten blood test results back, and shortly after someone asked - for a second time- to take xrays. This was an odd question as we were asked this within 20 minutes of our arrival. Eventually the vet came in and told us that the xrays didn't show any obstruction and he recommended meds for gastroenteritis. After almost 8 hours in an emergency room, not having seen our dog that whole time, and it being almost midnight, it didnt even cross our mind to ask about the blood test results. Based on any other medical visit, if it isnt brought up, we assumed that meant the results came back normal. The vet said he was going to give our dog meds for gastroenteritis and the vomiting should cease, but based on the xrays, to expect diarrhea.
The vomiting did not stop and the diarrhea did come. So, we still saw our regular vet the next day just to find out that BluePearl NEVER RAN ANY BLOOD TESTS. As I sat in another veterinary office with my dog who became increasingly dehydrated from the constant vomiting and diarrhea, I had to listen to my veterinarian ask her vet tech twice that BluePearl did not run any blood tests. The vet tech verified this and said she even called BluePearl to confirm that no blood work was ran.
Somebody explain to me how a pet owner brought in a dog who is vomiting for reasons they cannot explain and a veterinarian gave medication without any understanding of the underlying causes? And not only was this dog given medication for an unknown medical issue they didn't even look into besides an xray to confirm there was no obstruction, they lied to my face saying I waited 7 hours to get blood test results.
As I write this review, it's 24 hours later and my dog is in a different emergency vet clinic in Waukesha because my dog is still vomiting, has diarrhea, is extremely dehydrated and a myriad of other issues. And instead of going back to BluePearl I drove to a legitimately reputable emergency clinic that has positive reviews and is recommended by my regular veterinarian.
BluePearl didn't fix the issue my dog was having, who knows if they even made anything better or perhaps they made it worse. They didn't run any blood tests for a legitimate gastrointestinal issue I couldn't pinpoint to a specific event or situation and then lied to my face about doing the most basic part of their job. I'm sure there's some excuse they could throw my way, but at the end of the day if you can't operate in a trustworthy manner you'll never get hundreds of my dollars again. And don't doubt that I'm not looking into a way to recoup that money.

Brought my dog in due to acting strange and whimpering in pain. He would act normal but then would show signs of being in pain.
I told the receptionist that. I was told he would be seen soon. After a while a lab tech came out and told me that they could only do vitals. They were only doing life threatening or serious issues. They said they would do vitals but that was all. She came back out and said there was elevation in heart rate and temperature. However we had to go to Madison, Milwaukee or Wausau to get care for him. Would have been nice if the receptionist would of told us that. I asked about blockages, bloat and stomach twist. I was told vitals would be different. Would not recommend going here. Before it was bought out by current company it was a good place. Now, I can't say that. Take the ride to somewhere else. You will end up doing that anyways.

We took our dog in because he was whimpering and acting like he's in pain. We thought we'd take him to the so-called emergency vet...but we got there and told us a tech would be out in a bit. When the tech did come to us, she said they could only take vitals and then we'd have to go to milwaukee or Madison to have an actual vet see our dog! They were only seeing surgical or end of life patients. Why couldn't the receptionist tell us that? Instead we sat for 45 minutes before anyone talked to us...what a waste of time.

This place is absolutely terrible. Do not take your pets here. This is a perfect example of a poorly managed American corporation that’s main priority is money over actually caring about the animals and clients they serve. Our cat has a very bad oral abscess from poorly preformed dental surgery. When we came in there were 3 clients in the waiting room and were not busy. We were told the wait would be 5 to 10 hours because they were short staffed. The lady at reception told us that they always have call ins and they are always short. She said the management was very poor herself. That was clear just by looking at the place. It appeared that they only had one doctor working and they were more concerned with getting us to leave than helping us. My cat was in pain and needed antibiotics. After one hour we ended up leaving with no care because they said he would not be seen until morning. This is unacceptable…I will never bring my animals here again. This place does not care and has poor management. You are either short staffed due to saving money, or you are short staffed with call outs because of mismanagement….Take your pets somewhere else. The vets are also very uncaring. It’s just a cash pit.

Took my dog there and sat there almost 8 hrs, without her being seen, paid a lot for them to tell me she's got kennel cough.

I've always been told to go to BluePearl over Paw Health and I honestly don't get why. I was there for about 4 hours total to get my cat looked at for a UTI. It took an hour to get taken back to an office. Then I sat for another hour just to be seen for 15 minutes. They then gave options of what to do, when all I really wanted was for them to do the things that would diagnose the issue and give my pet some relief. They said it would take 30 minutes for results and they would come talk to me. It was yet another hour later before they talked to me. The vet did not seem sure of the issue (not to mention did not seem sure of the issue when talking to another patient in the waiting room). I did not feel that they did all they could or recommended the correct path to take. At this point I just wanted the pain medication, to pay and to get my cat back. It took another 40 MINUTES before I went up to the counter to ask for my bill and my cat. This place was a joke. A $400 joke.

Our dog had a tumor in her colon. She had surgery performed by Dr. Alex. He did a phenomenal job. She is recovering and feels so much better. Loved the whole experience. ❤️

At 10:30an we noticed our 4 month old kitten with a red mass hanging out her rectum. Called many places before the Appleton Blue Pear was able to get us in at 1:30pm. Drove an hour to the animal hospital and got checked in. Took 45 minutes to get us to a room for a brief consultation with a nurse. We waited 2 hours an no doctor. I checked with reception and the girl had someone check on how long before we'd be seen. A nurse showed up and said we were next on the list. Well another 2 hours go by and I had to once again pester the receptionist. Finally the doctor came to see the cat at 7:30 and after a brief conversation took her back for an exam. Almost an hour later comes back with the diagnosis of prolapsed rectum and explained the procedure. The doctor flatly admitted she had never seen a case like such as ours. So surgery was scheduled and we left at 8:30 to get some food for ourselves. At 10:30pm the doctor calls to get permission to use a light sedation as the cat was in pain to which I agreed to the use of sedation so the cat would be comfortable during the procedure. Just before midnight we got the call that surgery was a success and we could pick up our cat a half hour later, which would be about 12:30am. A full 11 hours after we arrived at the hospital with a life threatening situation. Brought her home and all seemed fine till we went looking for our cat and found her dead at 10:30 am with rigor, indicating she had passed about three hours before we found her. We called the hospital to a less than sympathetic staff, complained that our cat was dead, and the staff promptly hung up on us. We are considering legal action for a wrongful dead of our beloveds pet that this clinic failed in their duty to tend to a pet in a life threatening situation appropriate.
