The hotel is beautiful! It’s my second visit and again I’m pleasantly overwhelmed by the colors and wallpaper and whimsy throughout the buildings. However I want to warn future guests to NOT book online as the hotel front desk staff and their manager Aliza have informed me that “the website is messed up and you should call the reservations department when booking.” For example the Governors Suite is available to be booked however there is “something wrong with it” so it’s actually not available. Their reservation system will allow you to book suites that aren’t available, and will allow you to book rooms for large groups that don’t actually sleep large groups. Overall a beautiful hotel but with these issues I think it’s best to book direct or find another option for large groups to avoid mishaps and confusion. And if you’ve booked the governors suite in the near future, definitely cancel it as “something is wrong with it” as mentioned before.

Property is beautiful, but the service and rooms are pretty bad. Couldn’t order room service because they had one server and on a 3 hour wait. Drinks were $44 dollars in the casino while gambling. A/C didn’t work in the room, etc…. Won’t ever go back

Superb resort except they do not have wash cloths and Housekeeping told me to use a hand towel. Have you tried to wash your face or body with a hand towel? You can ring it out! Really! And at the Greenbrier!
Walkability: The grounds are immaculate and there are lots of walking paths!

Update: We have still not received notice of a credit nor to return to use our night we could not. Highly, disappointing
Not good at all. We have not traveled much in the last couple of years so this was a really special time for us. A quick getaway. My husbands memory of the last time we ate there was certainly shattered. The dress code is totally ignored. We ate at the bar as we didn't feel like changing and realized what a waste that was. They completely ignored the dress code. My husbands shock at the quality of his meal was so disappointing. There is nothing like what we had experienced in past visits. Our room was nice. The guest beside our bathroom was sick the entire night. It was very apparent through the walls. We ended up not feeling well, and I was sick around 1 am. My husband called the front desk and arranged an early check out. The lady was very kind. He asked if we could use our 2nd night another time or get a refund. He was advised she would handle and wave the early check out fee. There is still no credit showing on our card.
The final disappointment was upon leaving. I'm sick,we had gotten our luggage to the valet, and our vehicle was there. All three gentlemen present stood while my husband loaded our vehicle. No assistance, no thank you. Just talking among themselves.
Rooms: It was nice other than the gentleman who kept us up all night next door
Food & drinks: Major fail from the quality of our last visit.

Seriously like no other place to stay/visit. You are able to explore inside without a reservation (but be mindful of resort dresscode) and the architecture/design is beyond impressive to look at. Every room is uniquely grand, fitted with artsy chairs and decor, bold wallpaper, wildly creative carpet, and high ceilings. It is truly a royal feeling to walk the halls of the Greenbrier. Adults and children are all dressed to the nines at this place. They offer carriage rides, spa treatments, things for children, golf, swimming, dinner, shopping, and more. This is a must see if you are in the area. Look up the history before coming and you will find yourself in awe of the building itself and the many people who have walked the halls (including 28 presidents.) Lastly, they have a massive underground bunker once called "Project Greek Island" that was to be used to house the entirety of congress in the event of an emergency. It was kept a secret for 30 years, but its cover was blown by a Washington Post Reporter in 1992 and is now open for public tours. Come check it out!

This is a gorgeous historical hotel. The furnishings are lush and colorful. The staff is very kind, helpful and accommodating.
We arrived at The Greenbrier just for a tour around the hotel. We did not pay the $42.00 to take the bunker tour. Instead we were given a day pass to walk around the inside and outside of the hotel building and grounds.
We browsed the candy maker shop and The Greenbrier shop. Everything was expensive, of course, but we did purchase a few items. I purchased a couple of The Greenbrier Caramels from the candy maker and enjoyed them very much. These were buttery caramels dipped in milk chocolate on one half and dark chocolate on the other.
Everywhere we went in the hotel in the public areas was clean and inviting. There were pieces of history everywhere. A large oil painting of princess Grace hanging one of the large sitting rooms, and a picture of Duke of Windsor and Wallace Simpson was in another area in the hotel, with a historical plaque with information about the couple.
There are beautiful chandeliers and fixtures everywhere you look. The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, and the grounds are very well kept and landscaped and there are flowers everywhere. It is definitely worth a trip off of the highway to spend some time on the grounds and wandering the hotel. And the best thing is you don't have to spend any money to enjoy the beauty of this place.

America’s resort nestled in the mountains of White Sulfur Springs, WV. It’s weathered the test of time and still standing grand. Shops, casino, pools, horseback riding and other outdoor adventures await as you step back into the grandeur of the early 1900s.

The room rates are high, they booked us in the wrong room then unapologetically told me their system didn't know what kind of room it was, but they couldn't fix it because they had no rooms left. The whole place is rundown and expensive. The air conditioning doesn't get cold enough and the beds aren't comfortable. It is the most expensive resort I have ever stayed at while also being the least impressive
