Dollar General in downtown Weirton serves as a crucial shopping destination, but it faces challenges with understaffing and low inventory. Many customers note that the store often appears messy, which they attribute to a lack of adequate staffing. Workers are recognized for their friendly demeanor and for doing their best under difficult circumstances, but the company’s policies on staffing and hours hinder their ability to maintain the store and assist customers effectively. Despite these challenges, there are positive experiences highlighted by customers regarding the service provided by staff members. Employees like Nick, Liz, Isaiah, and Theresa have been praised for their excellent customer service, helping shoppers locate items and efficiently processing transactions. Their efforts are appreciated, especially in a busy environment where they are often multitasking. However, there are frustrations as well, such as customers being denied entry despite the store being open and feeling unable to reach corporate for assistance. Overall, while Dollar General fulfills a vital role in the community, improvements in staffing and inventory management could enhance the shopping experience for its customers.

As it is often the only store for certain things downtown Weirton, sometimes you have to stop in but the last year or so it has always been understaffed and low inventory on items. The workers that are there always seem to be doing their best but you can tell they need more employees. Not their fault.
