They have gotten greedy over the past year. Now it’s 275 dollars higher with other fee and a lodging fee. I guess it’s on to another one of those Pennsylvania resorts

We took a field trip with roughly 45 students to the lake to participate in activities I cannot say how appreciative we are for the snowshoe staff for going above and beyond for our students! The life guards were attentive and so kind to the students. They would joke along with the students. I cannot say how each staff member we interacted with today went above and beyond!

I've stayed here many times over the years and it's been one of my favorite lodging options on the mountain. However, starting this year it's lost one of the big amenities: the indoor parking is no longer free - now it's a hefty $20 per day ($15 off season) without in/out privileges. It's also a clumsy system - you have to take a ticket on entering and pay with a credit card upon departing since the garage is managed by the condo association, separate from the room booking with Snowshoe). Note also that the key scanner and ticket dispenser are not in one place so it may not be immediately clear after you scan the key card how to get the ticket. Anyway most people who stay at Rimfire no longer park inside - after all the free main parking lot is right across the road - but if you do decide to use the garage there are now tons of spaces available. This time I booked a Brigham Collection traditional room (210B) instead of my usual preferred deluxe studio which wasn't available (due to the pandemic Snowshoe is now busy throughout the week so lodging options are limited even on weekdays unless you book way in advance). The BC signature rooms are supposed to be more posh and in a way they are - more stylish looking furnishings, wood floors instead of carpeting, king size bed etc, but since this is a "traditional hotel room" it does not have even a small fridge or microwave, only a coffee maker, which is extremely inconvenient. This room is also tiny, with an unusually oppressive low ceiling (ceiling height maybe a problem for many if not all rooms on the second floor). The large wall mount TV has streaming options but wifi is very slow. This room also has a connecting door to the next unit, and soundproofing is nonexistent, we can hear the people on the other side of that door like they are in the same room with us. Rimfire might be the only condo building that has "traditional hotels rooms". Absolutely not recommended - especially since they are not any cheaper than the condos.

After staying at other buildings including Expedition Station and Allegheny Springs in previous trips Rimfire was overall a disappointment. Unit 362, a Deluxe Studio, seemed dated with minimum decor. The bathroom and kitchen desperately needs to be updated. The toilet and pedestal sink are way too low for an average height adult. You feel like you are using the bathroom in a preschool. Kitchen is dated as well. The old style electric stove burners are not secure and will come loose if you move a pot or pan with the only thing holding it in place is the electric wires. Sounds like an electrocution in the making if not repaired. Whenever the dishwasher is used the carpet in the dining room area gets soaked. As an AirBnB and VRBO host myself, I have a sense that the owner of this unit spares every expense in the guest accommodation and comfort department. The unit is equipped with the absolute minimum of cookware, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc... The coffee maker is a $10 piece of junk that doesn’t even keep the carafe warm after brewing. The 32” TV in the living room is way too small by today’s standards. Another major problem in this unit is the lighting... missing lamp bulbs plus inadequate track lighting that leave the unit overall way too dim. When you have to use your phone flashlight to read the stove knobs it might be too dark. The Rimfire common areas overall appears worn and due an for an update. The one redeeming attribute of the Rimfire lodge is the parking garage under the building. It is definitely a huge convenience for loading in and out. Unfortunately, the condo charges $20 per day to park there and the SnowShoe reservations website fails to adequately warn you of the $20/day fee. I discovered this as we were leaving and shocked by the $100 charge in order to be allowed to exit the garage. I will certainly never stay at Rimfire again and will nit recommend it to anyone.

Our condo was clean and well prepared upon arrival. Location is unbeatable for various slope entry. Some construction going on in the building so be sure to ask for a quiet room. Mountain view rooms provide a gorgeous sunset vs. village view.

Snowshoe is a beautiful town and the slopes are easy to get to from the village. However, if you like friendly staff and good customer service this is not the place. After our 3rd day it was our goal to find a friendly worker anywhere in the village. We found one at the shop Full tilt. Other than that you are treated like you are a bother.

good mtn terrible service, 3 times I tried calling and sat on hold for over an hour each time that repeated over and over the same message with no estimated wait time, mind you this was to book a reservation and spend money, freaking ridiculous, horrible customer service, and they have failed and many other levels. I'm so disappointed in them, especially bc im a returning customer who has spent serious money here. what a joke

My family and I have stayed at Rimfire every year for at least the last 5 years and have seen a steady decline in the quality of the accommodations. Lowlights from this year’s include an obvious lack of cleaning and a faulty GFCI circuit in the kitchen that left the microwave inoperable along with most of the outlets in the kitchen. Clothing and food items from the previous guest were found on the kitchen floor. The thermostat in the extra bedroom was not functioning. All this added to the new $20 fee per day for attractive underground parking made our visit unpleasant at best. If we return to Snowshoe it most certainly won’t be to Rimfire.
