I think the man working behind the counter needs a lesson in politeness from either the postmasters in Inwood or Gerrardstown as he gave me an attitude when I had a package delivered to my workplace in Shepherdstown.
He said this "The next time a package is sent here and you're name is not on the list on the back I will have it sent back".
So in other words if a person sent me a package to my workplace and this very surly rude excuse of a postal employee intercepted my package he would have it sent back instead of being polite he chooses to be rude.
He flat out said the next time something delivered there if I didn't have my name on their "list" that he would have it sent back.
Apparently in Shepherdstown at their post office all the local mail is delivered to their post office When no effort is made to deliver it directly to the address.
I really don't understand logic in this but it is what it is it's their rules I suppose but there's no excuse for being rude.
That's just not good manners nor good form I don't know if he's having a bad day, but I've been told that twice now and on the packages that I ordered it's delivered right to the CORRECT work address.
Furthermore, there's nothing indicate and it has to be sent to a PO box so it's just amazing that people can be that rude and he is about the most rude person I've met with an incredible chip on his shoulder.
I don't know what side of bed he woke up on but this has happened to me twice and I do not like being lectured to by people like this it is down right dreadful.
Finally I thought that if a package was sent to the correct address that it would be delivered to that correct address without going through postal workers that have attitude problems if you have an attitude leave it at home don't take it out on me.
Just about everyone goes through a bad day once in a while but every time I go in there this guy is having a really bad day he should either retire or go find another job or he doesn't have to deal with the general public.

The mail carrier never delivers packages to our home, but leaves them a long block away and even on wet ground. This is the laziest carrier ever.

The WORST USPS location EVER! They return packages the same day that they get them for no reason and don't even wait for the receiver to pick them up. Whoever works there clearly hates their job and people! If I could give -1000 stars I would.

It's nicer than most other post offices I've been to, that's just not really saying much. Staff is a little terrifying but helpful and pretty gosh darn fast. They do always deliver my mail promptly and on time, though; totally on par location for USPS but an absolute dream versus dealing with UPS or god forbid FedEx.

Imma keep this short and sweet. Love a few of the employees there. But I constantly am told my box is the wrong size even though my receipt showed the same size. Then to quickly fix it and “upgrade” is 25 dollars. For a box. Of the same size I was holding. Absolutely trifling to go there.

Needed to pick up a very important package today. I Work far away and drove to this (my local) post office quickly to make it by 5 PM. I had the package notice in my hand inside the office at 4:58. (I checked) Door was already locked and when I knocked I was met by silence, though I could hear them back there. Businesses run on efficiency, stay open till 5. Those 2 minutes you gained couldn't amount to much but it did hurt a customer.

5-star operation! I’ve lived in multiple countries and states across the U.S.; worked with dozens of post offices. I’ve never seen a post office where everyone pulls together to serve customers as well as Shepherdstown, WV. Jason’s team always has a smile and is willing to find answers. When another post office refused the request for a burial flag for my World War II honorably discharged grandfather, Jason helped resolve the issue; told me where I needed to go and who to ask for. When my bride ordered Christmas gifts a day late and they were stacked up in the mailroom with no chance of delivery until 26 December, Jason called to let us know his team could not possibly deliver the packages on the 24th, but he would be in the office so we could pick them up in time for a better Christmas! Never, in my life has a Post Master done this. I love Shepherdstown and the Post Office is one of many bright spots to make your day!

The people at the actual post office are very nice and friendly. Jason is very helpful as well. The mail carrier, however, and I’m not sure if there are multiple, is terrible. I lost count of how many issues we’ve had with mail being misdelivered or not delivered at all. Some packages have been scanned as being delivered at 4AM when mail doesn’t even come until around 12 or 1. It’s ridiculous. I almost hate stuff even coming here because there’s about an 80% chance there will be an issue. He’s also someone I would never trust. I forgot to have a package out for pickup and he LIED and checked it as having picked it up. Heaven forbid someone actually steals a package because thanks to him, no one will actually know what happened, since it was “delivered” at 4AM and all. Too bad he can’t be fired because that’s what he deserves. There should not be a mail carrier this bad.

I have yet to receive a package on time. They mark the packages as “delivered” when it gets to the facility. This means it can take several days before it either ends up at my address or I get a slip stating they missed my delivery and I have to pick it up at the post office. It’s honestly the worst post office experience I’ve ever had.

Our mail carrier is Kevin and he goes out of the way living up to the popular belief "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds". Both our courier, Kevin, and those working at the Shepherdstown Post Office, Jason and Staff, go above and beyond to work out any issue whether for our personal home delivery or for the charity non-profit where I'm employed. It's great if you can get your work done without problems but most of the time problems happen. That's when you see whose there to help and the staff at this post office work diligently to work though obstacles. At brief times I may have been a frustrated customer but the end result is always worked out! Thank you Shepherdstown Post Office! Our family and business appreciates all of you!

****update*****went inside on Monday morning and they explained what happened and said in the future they definitely will drop packages off on the porch. So thankful I went in and talked to Jason. He was super helpful and even called me back later with an answer to my question. One conversation changed my entire point of view. Once again super glad we moved to Shepherdstown.....******
