Very quaint, Appalachian atmosphere. Definitely appears to be the one-stop-shop for many of the locals. You order at the counter immediately to your right, and the lady taking my order was sweet, informative, and pronounced.
They also had a good selection of pre-made food you can grab and go if you are in a hurry.
I ordered the fried pickles and the Double Cheeseburger for a total of $18 and change. I was able to place the order promptly and was told it would be a bit of a wait since there were a few orders ahead of mine, which was just fine with me. The burger came with potato chips but that could be swapped with fries, onion rings, cold salads (pasta salad, potato salad, etc), etc for $3.
My food took about 25 minutes but it was worth it! The food came with ample sauces and the burger was huge! It tasted like momma's cooking back home.
The store was clean and easy to move around in! I don't know what the bathroom situation is. 3 minutes from the Sandstone Visitor Center and right off the interstate.
They had ice cream, ice, and gas for sale, as well as a post office box and the Sandstone Post Office itself. They also have rockin chairs and benches out on the porch, but no tables. They had one handicap spot next to a very sturdy handicap ramp.
I got my food to go, hence the Styrofoam to-go boxes, but ended up eating inside because my baby woke up. The benches and chairs were comfortable and clean, as were the floors.
All in all, highly recommend even at the more competitive price!

Nice little place. Gas was priced below Beckley area. Had fresh food and coffee. Some small local wares but not many. Some baked goods. Also a small section of fishing/outdoor gear. Friendly staff.

The Shroom burger is served on briosh bun. Fries are perfect. Fresh handmade beef patty.
I had to use their facilities after paddling river which was very clean. The food smelled good. The ladies behind counter were so nice. Definitely worth the stop.

Nice store on the river with deli for sandwiches. They can give you info on services. Park next door to get river access ( New River) for canoeing. There is a shuttle from Meadow Creek Hideaway.

This place is fantastic! Gas, food, limited groceries, even pet food and vehicle batteries. Dine in or take out. The turkey sandwich is fresh and delicious. As are the burgers. Save room for an ice cream cone too! Enjoy your visit to this beautiful area and come sit a spell.

Great little spot to grab a bite to eat. We got the special, the Italian sub and it did not disappoint! Oh, and if you have a sweet tooth, the peanut butter cheesecake is ridiculously satisfying.

Wonderful local spot. Employees are so sweet, and the food is not only fantastic but priced perfectly, too. Highly recommend making it a stop if you're passing through.

A great little gas station and local restaurant right off the interstate. Grabbed a delicious simple pulled pork bbq sandwich with chips for $6. Daily specials and a much more substantial kitchen than you'd expect. Also a fairly large dining area, capable of seating 20 or so at a time.Clean bathrooms and a small convenience store selection supplemented with some locally baked/prepared pastries and assorted items. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy access to/from the interstate makes it a hidden gem stop on a stretch of road otherwise pretty sparse with gas stations and rest stations.

A gem! Solidly good burgers, sandwiches, fries, salads, and all the rest - MADE TO ORDER - in addition to what's in the cold case for convenient grab-and-go! The staff are friendly, have an aura of competence, and I applaud the move to a more professional appearance (uniform tops, headgear) and approach, especially that staff knows the menu! An inventory of the usual "needs & staples," such as batteries, shampoo, canned foods and so forth are well supplied, plus a few WV/New River souvenirs and sweet foods from Fruits of Labor!! Suggestions to the owner: get your online presence going, especially on mapping websites. Get a sign on the highway and to your parking lot. You're so close to the exit, that sign should pay for itself quickly. Especially if you get your online presence up, up, UP! (Can your parking lot handle semi-tractor trailers?) But keep any website up-to-date. There's nothing that says "not doing well" than a website that's months, or years, out of date! It doesn't have to be every week, but at least once a month, do something to your site, such as (pretending): "March is pork month. Come enjoy our delicious BBQ sandwich MEAL and enjoy 10% off," or similar. Get ideas from staff and customers. They are fountains of ideas to improve and grow your business!
