I love this place. Anything you need on a long car trip. Everyone is friendly. It's like time was preserved here. If you are sharing a car ride with anyone who ever gave this store a 1 star review, then you too will be miserable.

Cool Springs Park is not a quick stop on a drive along U.S. Rt 50.....it is a destination. A step back in time when there were no interstate highways going east. Rt. 50 was the main route to Washington DC.....in fact it goes straight through downtown DC. Cool Springs was a place that cars and buses stopped on the way there. You can buy souvenirs, local foods, gasoline, farm equipment, if you needed a fan belt for a 1949 Ford they would probably have it hanging on the wall! Lol. The restaurant area is a type with a bar and stools and a few booths. Note:don't sit it any of the locals favorite stools! Also do not be in a hurry....a breakfast is usually at least one hour depending on how bus it is. They wait on one person at a time and cook their food and then the next person and so on. They give you a large portion of food but it is very hard to get a coffee refill. I love going there just to see the expressions on first timers faces! I would recommend stopping there just for the nostalgia.....you won't regret it!

If you enjoy good food, don't stop here... Is it edible? Of course, it's just incredibly bland food at cheap prices.... if you're hungry, stop in for a cheap basic foot long Hot Dog for $2, or some watery chili. For stuff like that, it's a great stop. My phone didn't have a signal here. They have WiFi, but when I asked for the code, the waitress said 'Oh nooooo it's private, when we gave out the code, people did bad things...". Huh? What kind of fear-based reply is that? OMG, did somebody look at a nude photo? Of course, take away WiFi from everyone!! SMH Otherwise, there is a friendly atmosphere here... It has that 'General Store from 100 years ago' vibe that is enjoyable. I love how the cafe is integrated into the middle of some shopping aisles Outside is a dilapidated park with various curiosities. It was interesting for a few moments. Do not order a 'Almond Joy' cookie, unless you enjoy stale cookies with the aftertaste of baking soda...
