Proof that the US is a now a low trust society. I was waiting for my car inspection and decided to grab some gifts for my daughters for valentines day at the nearby Dollar General. I have my backpack with me in case I wanted to get some work done on my computer while I'm waiting.After browsing the coloring books I went to look for some valentines themed items and suddenly a woman peeks around the corner of the aisle, approaches me and asks me to leave my backpack at the front of the store under the security camera! I ask if I seem untrustworthy and she replies (clearly without thinking) that it's just their policy.Notable that she never asked if I needed any help finding anything, the impression was she was too busy stalking me, afraid I was going to steal some $1 coloring books? I say have a nice day and head for the exit because it's my policy not to do business with anyone who doesn't trust me to browse their goods.On the way out I hear "he's just upset I asked him to leave his backpack..." and no that wasn't it in the slightest. Learn some respect and use some tact and your brain to judge a situation before jumping right to mistrust and policy enforcement.What a depressing way to start the day in the USA.

My favorite DG in the area. I can almost always find what I came in for, employees are always kind, and prices are pretty good. The employees here just unfortunately have, like most other retail stores, been understaffed, underpaid, and overworked. The corporation itself doesn't seem to appreciate hard work, but just know that your community appreciates you. ?

Decent store in a safe area. Usually have everything you can expect at a Dollar General. Depending on when you go, you may have trouble getting some household items, but they usually restock in a timely fashion.
