These folks do the thankless job taking care of the lost, abandoned and mistreated animals. They need more funding.

We saw an article in the news about the overcrowding and decided to go look and see if we could keep one from getting euthanized.... upon arriving the lady at the front was nice but this place has issues. Everytime I asked a question about a dog the response was "idk". How do they plan on finding homes if they don't know the breed, don't know if they are good with other dogs, cats, etc, don't know if they're potty trained or if they have any aggressive behaviors? No one is going to bring home a dog they know absolutely nothing about and take the risk of injuring children or other animals. If you know a dog may bite there should be some type of sign or at least someone notifying people. My husband tried to pet a dog that bites males and 4 staff members said nothing but the sponsor finally saw and immediately notified him. The dogs are being punished for having a poorly run facility. I understand they have too many but this was one of the most unorganized shelters I have seen. We ended up going to the Raleigh humane society and getting our perfect Lil man. Why? Because staff knew the dogs. They had information that was necessary to adopt him. This facility needs help and it's not fair to the animals there.
